Insurance for being scammed

Actually it is "technically" theft if you didn't actually hand the money over...

End of the day tho it was a stupid thing to do.

You bought two laptops of some strangers in the street - on a whim, I presume and wonder why you got ripped off?

Please don't say the guys said "Hey fella, want a cheap laptop?" Or something of the sort?!

There was a similar thing on The Real Hustle. But they actually sold them to bag and said to them right before giving them the bag with a bottle of water in and receiving the money that they were selling them it.

But if they took the money from you while you were counting the money out and they hadn't handed over the laptops or bags, then I would defiantly report it to the police and see what they say about it with the insurance.

Also, things like this shouldn't be done, my uncle once bought two TVs which were off a back of a lorry. He didn't try them before buying them and we were going to buy one from him. He brought them both round to mine and when we plugged one in the entire screen was cracked, we then checked the next one and the same thing. I suppose it bring a whole new meaning to falling off a back of a lorry.

In the end, my dad knew the local ******, had a word with them about it and where they had come from. Two weeks after my dad speaking to them, we got an envolope through the letter box with a letter tellings us it was the money for the TVs. :D:D

Happy days in this case!! :D

LOL. You lose.

But did you;

a) Get the car's registration plate
b) Report to the police as soon as physically possible
c) Get dropped on the head as a baby?

Wouldn't it be graet if this happened your vision went blank and you got massive GAME OVER in front of you?

Seriousely though that was a spectacularly stupid idea.

lol, from your description it sounds like you have been trying to score crack not laptops!

1) Approach car full of shady characters.
2) Merchandise shown through window
3) Count out money in view
4) Oh noes they grab teh monehs and runs with your merchandise.

That's not getting scammed, that's just getting robbed.

Did these people drive up beside you and say "ere mate, wanna buy a laptop?" or did you arrange to meet them?
