Insurance for being scammed

I'm still trying to work out what happened as the OP was so vague - bordering on unbelievable.

Just tell us what happened in proper English please, so we can determine if you were really robbed or just idiotic.

I'm beginning to think this is a joke.

There was a similar thing on The Real Hustle. But they actually sold them to bag and said to them right before giving them the bag with a bottle of water in and receiving the money that they were selling them it.

But if they took the money from you while you were counting the money out and they hadn't handed over the laptops or bags, then I would defiantly report it to the police and see what they say about it with the insurance.

Also, things like this shouldn't be done, my uncle once bought two TVs which were off a back of a lorry. He didn't try them before buying them and we were going to buy one from him. He brought them both round to mine and when we plugged one in the entire screen was cracked, we then checked the next one and the same thing. I suppose it bring a whole new meaning to falling off a back of a lorry.

In the end, my dad knew the local ******, had a word with them about it and where they had come from. Two weeks after my dad speaking to them, we got an envolope through the letter box with a letter tellings us it was the money for the TVs. :D:D

Happy days in this case!! :D

So you're dad was happy to buy known stolen goods - which is a criminal offence.
And then complained because the known stolen goods were damaged.

Wonders never cease.

Why, oh why did you get the money out?
All ways check the merchandise before paying for it...
Come on its commons sense, if he wont let you check the gear dont get the money out.
