Hi there

getting the asus rampg 2 extreme soon and it has a bundled SupremeFX X-Fi. WOndering if the quality of it is the same/better or worse than my current xfi music, if so ill use the onboard for ease :)

Can anyone tell me if it uses creatives xfi drivers etc?

ill be using my goldring dr150's and a set of logi 5.1's

Id use the extreme music. The supreme FX is in fact based on a PCI-E extreme audio card which is inferior to the extreme music :)

haha ;)

reading around everyone is just like:

OMG ONBOARD SUCKS XONAR/XFI YEAHGOGO

with no real information behind it.

lol mega late reply sorry, thought i posted that ages ago.
Ill stick to my xfi then :) taa

The Supreme FX X-Fi is just onboard sound but with an expansion riser. It also has tweaked software which allows the x-fi software to be used with it. Thats pretty much it really theres no x-fi chip in it.

Stick with the extreme music imo... if the supremeFX is based on the xtreme audio as I suspect then its actually an audigy based chipset and not really x-fi.

The earlier SupremeFX cards were just onboard Analog Devices codecs on an expansion riser with a shield to protect against the electromagnetic interference.

Not sure if this is the same.

I think its based on an ADI AD2000B chipset and nothing by creative. They just got permission from Creative to use some of their software ie crystalliser.

haha IF i do, your top o the list buddy :D

(just worked out howmuch im getting over summerjob so you may be lucky once a paycheque comes in :P)
