Can I link up a ATI 4870 and a ATI 4890 ? would the cards run ok ?
Would I be expecting the 4890 to run at the speeds of the 4870 as it has a slower clock speed then the 4890, could each card process half of the screen like a SLI..
Last question I have a Corsair 650w would it be able to handle both cards ?

Thanks...

Motherboard is a Gigabyte EP45 Extreme
PSU : Corsair 650w
Memory : 8GB OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Dual Channel
CPU : E8500 CPU
LG Lightscribe DVDWriter
2 x 500GB Samsung HD's
Antec Nine Hundred Case

The PSU should be OK, but I think ATI do quote 750 as min for xfire set up, as I say your 650 sill more than liely be ok (99.9%) but if you have any problems and ask ATI for tech help they'll just tell you its your PSU, hope you have no problems :D

Your PSU should be fine...
But just get another 4870 like others have said.

Yes I hear what everybody is saying about getting another 4870,, But have just bought a 4890 and already having a 4870 which I'm just about to sell off, but was thinking about keeping it, and what difference it would make pair'ing it up with my new ATI 4890...

Thanks.. for everybody's input .... :D

yeah did mention that he had got a HD4890 still could return it and than get a HD4870?
