Kingston 8500 RAM showing as 6400 RAM in CPU-Z

Sorry to drag this up but rather and start a new post i'd thoughts i'd ask here:

I'm in exactly the same boat but with this ram but how do i go about increasing the voltage (never really ventured into the advance section in the BIOS :() also reading the full spec apparently i need to change the latency timing?

there isn't buy any chance a dummies section on how do to do this is there and also if i do will it void the warranty like overclocking does?

I'm running that ram on auto for timeings but I did have to set the speed and voltage in the bios as it was only being run at 800mhz, you should see an option in the bios for DRAM Voltage, I've set mine to 2.0v and speed x5.33 = 1066.

cool thxs for the info
tbh i tried changing the DRAM Frequency to DDR2-1066 But about 30-40 mins in i got a BSOD not sure if it was caused by that or not.
But would this work:

DRAM Frequency: DDR2-1066
DRAM Voltage: 2.0v

I will probably like you leave the timings on Auto because tbh it's way out of my depth :(

But one other thing probably a really silly question but does this Void the warranty? like overclocking does a processor

Not that I know of, as your within the specs of the ram, think it goes up to 2.3v so 2.0v is well within the limit, the BSOD could be because the ram was not getting enough juice, try it at 2.0v and see how it goes, if you still get a BSOD after a while then up it a little again, just not over the limit of 2.3v.

Use the settings you said above, should work fine.

This RAM needs at least 2.1v to operate at 1066mhz, but 2.2v is the recommended voltage set by Kingston.
