Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

I'll be up for some games monday evening cav, I'm rubbish against guile so it should be no trouble for you. ;)

Popped into town today and the tourny is definately on, at Gamerbase on Sunday 24th.

The last tourny had a Balrog vs Balrog final! Apparently some of the top players in the country were down there for it, sounds really big the way he was going on about it, I will have to go and see for myself. My name is down anyway, should be interesting lol. I will be using a 360 pad so don't fancy my chances of progressing too far. :o

no way, 360 only tourney?! good luck with that... everytime ive played a beat em up on a 360 pad i just end up shaking my head/laughing at all the random inputs

Just who are the top players in the UK? There are no names that stand out or even do well at international tournaments.

Well it has to be 360 or PS3, unless they offer the peripherals. I think the 360 version is preferred due to some minor technical issues with the PS3 versions speed, but don't quote me on that.

I think mpower07 is currently ranked #1, closely followed by er.. Jamesdavid3? :p

There is supposedly a v v good Blanka player there, a v good Gief player, and afew good Balrogs. I'm going more for the atmosphere tbh, and to see the turn out. It's £4 to enter, atm about 30 names are down, more expected to join on the day. Should be good fun. 11am-5pm! :)

Very good gief player?

Doesn't really take much skill with gief. If you pull off a 5 hit combo with him obviously ending with one of his throws. KO!

you got anything to record with? id love to see how they play

gief takes more skill than people give him credit for, he only seems overpowered when fools let him get close without a fight :p

i think a good way is just try and borrow a normal digital camera off someone and take some extra batteries/mem cards :D. thats how i record my stuff anyway, ok qualty and watchable frame rate :)

Completely out of the blue a Ken fightpad just arrived on my doormat.

Thought it was my new HDDVDS :(

But hmm do I open it or sell it, I had forgot all about it lol

well you won't get more than current retail price imo - they are pretty common now - PS3 ones anyway. hang on to it.

Also have put my name down for this tourny, After playing default controls with the ps3, i think i will struggle playing with a 360 pad as i absolutely hate the 360 d-pad , No Offence:p:p. Will definetley be getting a stick soon, i am considering custom made but have no ideaaa on what to do, After asking local people about a Madcatz SE Sanwa modd, there words were Absolute pile of ****, After hearing quiet a few people say that it has put me of, What do you guys think of a SE Sanwa modd?..

Here are links to one of the best Zangief players in the uk.
I reckon i could give him a good game :D hehehe

Pretty Bad quality but watchable.
Zangief Vs Seth ^^

Zangief VS Bison^^

Who are these local people, raving idiots?

The modded SE is the absolute best you can get in terms of quality components and it works flawlessly. Many people prefer it to the needlessly bulky TE.

considering the best parts available are sanwa parts, id like to see what these 'local people' use lol :p

SE modded stick is the easiest way to get a sanwa stick at a reasonable price. TE stick is the fastest and easiest way to get a sanwa stick but is also the most expensive option.

the other ways are either making a custom stick from scratch or buying a different stick brand (hori etc.) and then modding... this is the slowest, most complicated way (requires soldering and/or cutting materials etc.) to get a sanwa stick but is also the cheapest unless you go nuts on the materials.
