Lo all,

I've got my birthday party next week (woo) and we're thinking about going to London as something a bit different to what we normally do.

Therefore, are there any decent rock nights around in close proximity to Kings Cross station? (or a short tube trip away?)

Cheers,

David

edit: can a mod change "on" to "in" in my thread title please? I'll go to sleep now.. =\

Do not ask anyone what a night out in London is like a)it's **** or b)it's great, and unless you wear skinny jeans, it ain't.

What exactly are you after?

Any way... Don't come here, London (unless you know London) is mighty overrated. It's like School, you are either in, or you are not...

??? I'm pretty sure a lot of people live in London and have grown up here. Its a fairly big place. Whats with the shock?

As for not having a good night out in London. You'd have to be an idiot.

Anyway. London is big place, homeboy. Whatever you wanna do, It is here, you want Class A.. Come to where I live! we will introduce you to the scene

If I like real music not the electronic **** thats played most places go to Aint Nothin But The Blues Bar in soho on a friday night and I garantee it'll immense!
Or your money back!

I've vowed never to go back to Soho after a mate and I completely tore it up there one night, moving between two bars. We were only over visiting for the Frightfest film festival and had the night before to ourselves.

Spent well over £100 getting drunk, hopping between a few rockier bars. I think the staff in a couple of them got a little annoyed with us as we got more drunk, but our nature is extremely jovial (if annoying) and it all turned out ok.

Well, besides the fact we took a wrong turn and it took us at least 40 minutes to get to Piccadilly Circus from Soho (a 10-minute drunken jaunt in reality) because he refused to look at the map!

There's no way those bartenders and bouncers will forget us, even after 2 years, if we turn up together again. Will be looking for somewhere else to imbibe this year.

In general though, the center of London is a bit disappointing for drinking venues, tbh. Any time we're there we spend a few hours in whatever random pub we can find, then take a carry out to the hotel room and watch some TV/have a laugh.
