Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia

Which of these places would you visit and why?

Off to Thailand 23rd July, till 17th August. We've decided to see other places while we're in that area of the world, but I don't think we have enough time to see them all if we wanna see most of Thailand too.

So.... I'm after some advice. Sight seeing, partying and women are the main criteria, in reverse order.

I here laos is very under touristed, compared to to thailand.
Alos malaysia has quite a high threat warning to people of westeeren descent, but i would believe everying the cia claim.
I would deffinately try laos it hs a lot of ancient temples and most of your travel will be buy boat, so if you want to be indiana jones go laos.

Whereabouts in Thailand are you going? I'm there from 28th June to 17th August.

the usual places hopefully. koh samui, koh phangan and possibly phuket and chang mai. Will be in ko phangan for the full moon party.

Still in the process of sorting a proper itinerery, hence this thread

Not since i was 4 years old, but i have quite a few lonely planet guide book's that i like to read and plan many little plans and task that i wish to create.

Laos and Cambodia.

I love Cambodia and Mrs Asprilla reckons Laos is the most beautiful country I've ever been to.

I had planned to go to Cambodia for a week inbetween Thailand and Malaysia. I heard off so many people that Laos was better. People told me and i read that Cambodia was amazing for temples such as Angkor Wat but after a few weeks in thailand I was templed out. Never wanted to see one, ever again and still dont.
I ended up planning on going to Vang Vieng in Laos for about 4 days, i stayed for 2 weeks. It was amazing. Visiting the many caves, small lagoons, rock climbing, beautiful countryside. Then theres all the small restaurant bars and TUBING! Hired motorbikes for a few days and went out into the sticks. If i ever go back to Thailand i will certainly visit Laos again.

Heres a couple of pics of Laos for you. p.s, dont attempt a gaynor (run then backflip) off a 14 metre high tower after going to 10 bars. I landed on my face and got 2 black eyes!

Laos is vervy very mellow. some lovely scenery

cambodia is also good for the wats..(temples) but you wouldnt need to spend much time there but still worth seeing.

Laos is a stunning country. Went from northern Thailand down the Mekong and stayed in Luang Prabang for a few days. Bout 5 years since I went but want to go again for sure.

If you go to Cambodia I recommend you go to Siem Reap, much better alternative than Phom Penh.

Id love to go to Laos myself if I have the chance. Hopefully I will be visiting KL in a couple of months for a few days.

So do the shakes, my favs were mint and mango (not together!) The chicken mayo salad sandwiches tasted like heaven after a hard days and nights tubing

They're all swarming with beggers, dodgy locals, corrupt cops, bent politicians, Western tourists looking for cheap sex and paedophiles hiding from Western governments.

They do have some nice scenery. Some people think this makes up for the drawbacks. I don't.

Except for the scenery part you could be describing London...

Unless this is a joke, which i presume it is, then you are a fool

and most likely not been to any of the places
