Hi,

A friend of mine is after the best graphics card for himself for a budget of £150, I would recommend him something but I have become out of touch with them. So what are the good buys these days around this price?

How good are they at overclocking?

I have not tested it in games yet but mine (the stock clocked XFX) has literally just been overclocked to 950gpu, 1.1ghz mem. using CCC (very easy to do!)

Don't waste money on a pre overclocked one. Check out the asus one with the volt mod its the same price as the XFX one.

EDIT: 925gpu and 1.1 mem passing 3d mark06 no problems

4890s are great for overclocking. This one is the same price as the xfx (no included games) but it can be overclocked by 100MHz (950MHz total) and remain under the warrenty :)

Most 4890s seem to top out at just under 1GHz - so some very nice overclocking to be had. Generally a very nice card.

Just don't spend any extra on a pre-overclocked one:)

Go with the 4890 as above people have said. Amazing performance for the price.
If you really can't go over budget, get the 4870 1gb. Still a really good card.
