InFamous demo up on the PSN (PS3 Exclusive)

Really enjoying the demo's but from some of the comments I had read on here about it I was expecting a Crackdown Killer of which it isn't but at the same time its still a darn great game.

Lightning storm attack? I missed this, explain plz :p

Best demo i have ever played btw, not because its the best game ever or anything, just because it's a brilliant length and allows you to really see what the game has to offer.

I mean the lightening bolt thingy :p, you can activate it on the last mission by holding 'down' on the D-Pad and then a massive bolt of lightening comes down and the sky turns black, you can also guide it by the six-axis.

Feeling a little dim here. Managed to complete the demo twice but found it really gruelling. Then i noticed the popup telling me to hold R2 to leech electricity from nearby objects to heal yourself... whoops.

Power railing on the rail tracks is awesome.. The graphics are okay good, but not earth shattering maybe thats just the demo. I can't wait till next week now :)

Nice long demo too.

I couldn't work out what was your health indicator. I thought it might be the row of electricity.

The row of electricity is just your 'batteries', each attack that requires energy uses a certain number of batteries.

Your health is just indicated in the same way as games like cod4, resistance 2 and kz2, your screen goes red and fuzzy

Anyone reckon that prototype will be better?

Big fat no. Prototype looks like it has taken the hero thing way too far. Piledriving a tank? Seems too over the top, even for me.

What excites me most about Infamous is that it apparently has one of the best storylines to ever grace an action game. Prototype from what i've heard has an incredibly basic storyline.

That game looks like a mindless orgy of gore and violence with little attention paid to the story to explain it all. I don't doubt though that it will be fun for a few hours.

Infamous seems to pay homage to the old marvel and dc comic characters with some frank miller influences. Empire city kind of reminds you of gotham city with all its anarchy.

At the end of a hard days work mindless gore and violence does sound appealing. :P

Man what a demo! It's been a long time since I was super impressed by something (not even KZ2/SF4 had me this impressed).

The demo starts off with the graphic novel type video which gave the impression of a good backstory.

Then you start on the top of the building and the first thing I do is jump down. This sounds stupid, but when he unexpectedly landed on top of the lampost, I was amazed by everything about it - the camera angle, the physics/animation.

Then all the attacks and variety of enemies impressed me. I like the Famous/Infamous aspect too - although it didn't seem like anything I did actually affected it.

What was bad was the missions :( Having the player do the same task repeatedly is poor design imo (im talking about the train ride).

The full game will have proper Hero/Infamous alignment adjustment. If you revive a citizen notice that the XP writing is in blue? That means it's 'hero' points, if they're red then it's 'infamous' points. As you collect each it will adjust your alignment.

On the mission front, every review i have read says the first couple of missions are nowhere near as good as the latter part of the game. From the dialogue as the train mission ends it seems that's a relatively early mission. Did you do the later missions in the demo? They were far better imo.
