I think any 8500+ should give you enough overhead to push the fsb to reach 4Ghz, but the northbridge might burn a hole through the mobo if you don't cool it well![]()
I take it cob You can get away with lower NB, VTT and PLL voltages on a p45 with a q9xxx, with my previous q6600 @3.8ghz i was using 1.6 PLL, 1.34 VTT and 1.3 on the NB, the board chipset heatsinks were always quite cool to the touch with theese settings.
Hm, yes, with auto volts I have 1.29 at load... So, I am going to make my 3.83GHz with manual configuration, thx setterIm currently running the following on my p5q deluxe.
vcore, 1.21250 in bios, 1.192 windows idle, 1.200 load
pll, 1.54
vtt,1.26
nb, 1.26
Currently clocked at 3.6ghz, 8.5x425, gonna have a crack at upping the fsb to 450. I never use auto voltage on this rig, as p5q's are notorious for setting extremely high voltages if left on auto or lowest manual setting.
