Ford Focus RS vs Nissan GT-R

Exactly. Nice to see this comparison in my playground of choice. That's how I feel in the CTR when I go out for a drive, I don't think there's much else that could give me the same fun in the same situation. Well, maybe this new RS or an Ariel Atom, but I don't see that happening anytime soon :D

Agree, they miss Chris Harris and really Sutters should be left to do these things. Frankel is not very TV and the other bloke should be an accountant.

I'm not up to speed with Autocar.. what happened to Chris Harris Housey? I loved the clips he was in,

Not a great video tbh, it just seems like it was geared to discredit the GTR. Saying that I have no doubt the RS is very confidence inspiring and fun to drive, can't imagine the GTR being dull in comparison really though.

The NY moors are my backyard playground and although a lot of roads are like that, lots of them would give space for the GTR to strech it's legs.

The fact is that it doesn't matter what the 2 cars were, could have been a GT3 and a Focus and on those roads the real world performance differences wouldn't be huge, same if they went Evo and Scooby, Evo and Focus, Scooby and GTR. Get to a certain level and the gaps reduce. Sure stick them on a track or on a long motorway and the difference would be huge but fact is on twisty and bumpy roads getting a gap requires silly speeds and total disregard for the law and safety of others.

I agree with them. Too many people buy cars based on how quick they are on the Top Gear track, Nurburgring or whatever, or based on how much BHP they have.

I prefer to have a car that's real fun, in real situations, on real roads as that's where I spend 99% of my time. As much as a 997 turbo would be lovely, I fear that I'd never get anywhere near using the power without seriously risking my licence so I'm quite happy with my hairdresser mobile

Makes perfect sense to me. I remember driving a Mitsu GTO a number of years back. Seriously fast motor with seemingly unlimted levels of grip. Fun?? Naw, not really, just very quick.
In comparison, something like a CTR really is IMO more involving and smile inducing.

Same here, well, that's one of the ways I make myself feel better about not having a Gallardo :p

My girlfriends cousin's fiancee has got a gtr, great car but a bit of a waste on our roads, to many speed cameras to enjoy it :( Still jealous though :)

No speed cameras on proper roads like those in the video. I'd be more wary of binnng it or getting stuck on narrower roads mind you. Some of the roads we've done on the CTR owners meets have been rather tight!

Most boring thing ever. I thought they were going to press on to see how much quicker the GT-R was, but instead the Focus just followed the GTR sedately...
