The Samsung OmniaHD i8910 ... this NEEDS it's own thread.

Yeah, I watched the last episode of heroes season 4 again in HD and it looked pretty sweet! Transferred the 350mb file in seconds and worked perfect.

So far my phone hasnt had any problems mentioned above. Maybe you should get your changed? :confused:


So what apps have you guys put on? Is opera mini better than the built in web browser? Anyone tried opera mini?
 
cant understand why orange would take out facebook and youtube i would have thought they would have been good selling points of the handsets having widgets to both of these

Try a hard reset.
 
I went from an N95 which is still a decent phone and the difference is staggering. I am blown away. It seems to support just about every media file there is too! :)

i think you have made my mind up im gonna wait till carphonewharehouse have it i want an unbranded phone that has not been butchered by orange just wish they would hurry up and get it in stock
 
Im surprised orange branded this phone for heavily. When I bought my omnia (non-hd) on an orange contract they sent it to me unbranded!

EDIT: found it - have just done it and I'll report back later with my 'hard reset phone' results. thanks m8 :)

Obviously it's too early to tell with this phone, but what is the general process for flashing the firmware of a Samsung and unbranding it? Is it as simple as on a Nokia, for example?

I know this is something i would have liked - cant see why the widgets were taken out. lets hope there will be someone out there who can get a flashed version available
 
Hi guys, I'm from Italy and I'm waiting my new umbranded i8910 for the 1st June.
A couple of questions:
1 - Any of you has still tried HelloOX? If so, does it work?
2 - How to do a hard reset on this device?

Can anyone comment on the reception signal strength of the i8910 in weak signal areas compared to other phones ?
