Hi guys

I've bought myself a Mk5 Fiesta Zetec and having driven it about the last few weeks something has become very apparent. The wing mirror visibility is awful.

Not only am I having to take my eyes off the road, cranking around to have a look in my blind spots (I wear glasses so no sideways glances) but it's becoming a pain in the arse doing any slow manoeuvre where I need to keep an eye on the surface (bay park etc).

So my question is are there any very clear wide angled stick on mirrors that can help give me visibility in these areas?

If so what are the recommendation?

cheers

I've always done "lifesavers" in the car regardless of how good my mirrors are. Bike habit, but has served me well.

When parking the CTR I just use the leccy switches to tilt them down to see curbs and bay lines so I can glance into those while reversing.

If you really must rely on your mirrors then Halfords will have an assortment of attachments and stick on bits. to aid you.

cant you adjust them?

Of course that's what i've been doing. I have to do a lot of duel carriage way driving so I have them aligned so the only part of the car I can see is the rear door handles (people round here love to ride in your blind spot). I have electric mirrors and tbh it's a pain in the arse moving them every time I do a manoeuvre. (not to mention I forget the move them back)

There aint much you can do bat some stick on mirrors that point down, I remember my driving instructot having them so he could see my 1337 parking skillz. They will look awful on the car but im afraid there aint much else bar lorries which have mirrors with any greater range really.

Learn to drive properly, checking your blind spot should be part of every manoeuvre.

Thanks for your help. I don't remember saying that I was going to use the stick on mirror so that I never hand to move my head from an absolute forward facing position like some school run mum.

Anyway. Dup my driving instructor had a similar system. Massive wide angled wing mirrors with mirrors extending the view and reducing the blind spot and the floor facing one that I absolutely miss now I have these make-up mirrors to use.

I'll take a drive over to halfords. Have been doing some reading and seems a round clear mirror on the top side closest to the car give both better blind spot coverage and curb viability.

This.

I don't see an issue here at all, other than the OP is wanting to be slightly more lazy. Blind spots on the 328i are not too bad, but I was taught properly with a normal car, and I check my blind spots before any manoeuvre...even though I check the mirrors a lot so know if someone is likely to be coming up towards my blind spot.
