:confused:Hi all - i've had my first attempts at overclocking but i'm not getting brilliant results. I quickly skimmed through the beginners guide but a lot of the parameters don't seem to be in my mobo's BIOS. Does anyone have any i7 920 D0 w/ P6T D v2 advice/parameters they could share with me?

Cheers,
Jimbo

I have an 920 D0 and P6T Deluxe V2 myself. Didn't really need to change a lot to get a perfectly stable 4GHz; just these settings:

Intel Turbo Mode - Disabled
AI Overclock Tuner - Manual
CPU Ratio - 20x
BCLK - 200
DRAM - DDR3-1603 (I have DDR3-1600 - you'd need to adjust this accordingly)
CPU volts - 1.22500v
QPI/DRAM volts - 1.27500v

However since every board and CPU are different this might well not work for you :)

Spend more time just looking through your BIOS - and a "quick scan" of the overclocking guides won't help. Devote some time to this, it's an expensive bit of kit you'll blow up if you do it wrong!

Thanks for all the input everyone. This evening I finally had time to sit down and start the process. I've got Everest, Core Temp and Prime95 setup and a little tinkering and I'm up to 3.7GHz with no trouble. Very happy given that it's my first attempt. I'm going to spend some more time on it tomorrow morning. I'd like to be able to hit the magic 4.0 if at all possible. What are the maximum temps that I should not exceed? Also, is it normal for Core 0 to run a little warmer than the others (3-4c)?
