New XMS3 almost dominator GT speeds!

OCUK dont stock it yet but the new XMS3

Corsair TR3X6G1600C7

6GB Memory Kit, (3x2GB) 1600MHz, Timing 7-7-7-20

This is faster than standard dominator and not far off the slower dominator GT, with a little tweaking you can prob get up to 1700 mhz.....

Is it me or is this just a crazy bargain?
 
Their is some good ram at amazing prices at the moment ram now seems to be the cheapest upgrade along side processor and motherboard.
 
I bought some at another etailer for 120 ish... OCUK still dont sell it... Seeing as dominator here is £144 and has 8 - 8 - 8 -24 timings so its slower AND more expensive...

Im wondering if this superfast xm3 range is a mistage and once its gone its gone...
 
Seriously though, what will upgrading the ram net you performance wise that is visible on a day to day basis. I am trying to justify going from pc-6400 to pc-9600 and other than a little more overclocking room I don't see a real world point.

Agree with you mate, but im building a new PC and want the best value for money, this is basically superfast ram being sold as XMS3 and as such is a bargain, im just trying to highlight this to you lot to save you some cash and get you some super quick memory on the cheap!

No idea when OCUK will stock, im not convinced this mem may have been a mistake as it seems to quick to be just XMS3....

I have a set sitting upstairs waiting to be installed though :-)

Take a look at it though its got tighter timings than the dominator GT ocuk is selling for £270!
 
wow i need to upgrade my RAM its the only thing i rlee skimped on because its the easiest to upgrade :P

might wait and take a look at this stuff
