TF2 Sniper Update

Just been playing as the Spy and have really got the hang of it!

Now loving Cloak and Dagger and stalking the sniper terrace on 2-Fort, picking off those coming out of re-spawn whilst disguised as a helpful little medic. :D

Loving it. And the Ambassador is awesome.

Need to enable crosshair in the game options though.
 
I think there is something wrong with unlocks, as if they are distributed out to certain servers at certain times or something. It seems as if its a matter of being in the right places at the right times.

I've been idling in Vipers server since 8am this morning roughly. By the time I get home it should be near 9-10 hours in game time.

If I don't have any thing to show for it, I'm going to be extremely annoyed :D
 
Yeah i think i'm going to idle over night.

It's ironic, isn't it. before this i'd never have joined an achievement server! ;)
 
I don't play *that* much because most mates play more L4D, but TF2 is easier to pick up and play, so I play regularly if not for hours on end.

I never agreed with achievement servers and I've never even attempted most of the achievements because they can encourage selfish play - so consequently I've been way behind everyone else for unlocks.

Since the updates, I've probably played around 4 hours, and in that time I have found the Sandman, the Razorback, Jarate and one other (can't remember) - all of which were new to me! :)

It's quite good to have a range of 'upgrades' to choose from but I'm in two minds as to whether I'm happy to be given freebies... Even though I was way behind most players, you don't get the same satisfied feeling of entitlement as you do when you earned upgrades through achievements.
 
Ive played this for about 4 days total.

unlocking the weapons via achievements is lame, as some of them are really hard to do which gets fustrating then you loose interest... seriously they advertise this STUPID update all over the place about the sniper bow, but you cant even use it until you have unlocked everything which takes ages.. what a stupid idea..

The maps are so so as it gets boring doing the same thing over and over.

the achievement servers are lame and should all be deleted and banned.
 
So unlocking the weapons via achievements is lame because "some of them are really hard to do", and you want achievement servers that are designed to make it easier to get them deleted/banned? :confused:

Has anyone else found that since the update and the TF2 offer that their favourite servers are constantly full? I spent 2hrs on/off this evening trying to join anyone of the servers. Crazy.

yep - everything on my favs list is full lately. worst thing about it is, prior to the update, most of them were dead. now its full of whiners moaning about 'XYZ is overpowered' etc

they really should have left in the achievement unlocks... its no fun without silly targets :)
 
May as well idle the rest of the night from now on, see what happens. I'm starting with nothing, I'll post what I find.


Edit : Found Cloak and Dagger after 15 mins

Edit 2: Nothing else after 2 hours

yea its seriously annoying me - spend ages waiting to join a game :(
 
what more annoying is those servers with "reserved slots". That allow you to join, but then kick you after 1 second. Why not just not allow you to join in the first place.
