The Official Overclockers UK Facebook Site

Why do some people have such a bee in their bonnet about Facebook?

Oh don't get me wrong - I use Facebook and enjoy the social addition that it gives you but I don't want to be bombarded by even more advertising than I already am. So I shant be adding OcUK as a fan.

I visit the forum multiple times a day and buy the majority of my computer kit from here - I don't need the advertising.

That is the group, there was a fan page set up, like this one which had quite a few members on it. However, that has been deleted to make people join to this one.

Why do some people have such a bee in their bonnet about Facebook?

It's fantastic for keeping in touch with people and e.g. uploading photos of what my friends and I got upto, but there are some lame and retarded things that keep happening.

Too many people descend entire conversations into text speak, applications can be really annoying and pointless, poking, application inviting. Recently it's people doing the "living surveys" or something - they then end up filling my entire homepage with uninteresting and pointless trivia. I mean really, you have two lamps, a printer, a pen and paper on your desk! Oooh, how exciting /faints.

I see theres a box on left with "Honour, loyalty and respect." in, could it not be something more fitting to the ocuk forums and read "lol dvdbunny" or "hhnnnnngg!"? :)

I became a fan, If you think about it everyone who becomes a fan is announcing that to all their friends, most people have 200+ friends, Awesome free advertising
