AM3 720 Stock fan - 5000rpm? Replacement cpu fan?

My system has become "sluggish" and have noticed a whining noise today which I stopped by tapping the cpu fan.

Now, I assume the fan is bust but why would the Mobo report over 5000rpm?

Temps are averaging 50.

Also, what after market fan is recommended?

The smaller cooler bundled with the 720 Black Edition is dreadful. How much are you looking to spend?

LOL - Yeah, I'd heard it was bad but it is totally pants.

£20 a reasonable budget?

Thanks. Looks good. Reminds me of the Freezer 64's but ive been put off them as their build quality seems a little low rent in my opinion but you get what you pay for.

Any other recommendations?

Stunning - stick a decent 120mm fan on it (it doesn't come with one)

Keeps my 720BE to 20idle, 40 load :-)
