Which Pay As You Go USB mobile broadband service would you recommend for a laptop and why?

o2 Pay As You Go mobile broadband, is cheap, £2 for a day (500MB bandwidth limit), £7.50 for a week (1gb bandwidth limit), £15 for a month (3gb bandwidth limit). the download speed is fast when its locked on to the 3g+ service..

Vodaphone has no time limit to use your quota. The only thing is that you need to sign in at least once every 180 days or so, otherwise you need to buy more credit.

Do all of them require the use of their own software? Or can any be configured manually? via windows?

i think all of them require the use of their own software. i know o2 does.
