What in gods name is going on with the buskers in Newcastle city centre? Newcastle has always been the pits for buskers and live out door music but it seems to have reached an all time low.

On every street corner there is now a gypsy type playing the accordian. One moment there were none and now 20. No great problems with the accordian but it seems like overkill.

There is also an old woman who strums a guitar, fair enough normally, only this womans guitar is not in tune and she knows no chords. I always have to stop and stare in disbelief.

Any ideas?

There's a guy in Liverpool who has a cardboard guitar...

Have you also had your ears ruined by the aural diarrhoea of that grubby looking cretin in the Subway that goes from Friar Street, under the A34 and to the supermarket?

I've also noticed in newcastle those weird little wooden models that play instruments up northumberland street.. they expect us to tip that when it doesnt even involve any musical talent?

Yeah I've seen them, they changed to accordians this week btw :(

We used to have a one man band in shields! Twas great! Never seen him around for months and months though!

Aye, he used to stand outside M&S, havn't seen him in ages.

Seen quite a few new ones in Newcastle, 4 people hitting drums with paint down their heads, they were quite amusing; and the black guy on the bass who told me he's busking to be "the first black bassist to go to the moon.":)

i bloody hate that woman and im sure it only had 2 strings a few weeks ago

i used to like the drunken one man band opposite greggs on northumberland street

the long haired tramp who performs ballet to the panflute bands and fenwicks window has gotta be the best for entertainment though.
the ending of that is just spectacular

and the black bassist mentioned above has got skills if im thinking of the same person.sometimes sets up right next to the monument? with an amp ?

Thats the guy. Aye he's very good on the bass, better than a lot of the other people I've seen around there.

When i was in London there was a guy playing the saxophone in one of the music station things in the tube, he was amazing, really funny too.

There 2 Good people that bass player dude, and the old woman: P
When I go I try not to laugh in front of her, but normally she just gives me nasty looks.

I seen the guitar woman and the black bass player the other day.

They was the guy who played the electric guitar at the downstairs of monument metro, but I don't know if he still plays there, because I don't get the metro much anymore, lol.

LOLLL!!! That woman gets everywhere, doesn't she also sell the big issue down by the market on some days?

Yeah I've seen this. They just stand by Fenwicks with these wooden models and I'm like...lol WUT talent is this!? I think they are trying to get the attention of the crimbo displays, but it will never happen!

I saw a one man band in Bratislava, he was sitting down with a keyboard and a drum kit. Quite amazing.

Woah! I saw something similar there last year, was it in the centre where those little wooden hatch stalls are? Bratislava is ace! The Old Slovak Pub = epic win win win!

Dunno if you guys saw but the Red Indians were overburdend by the sound of that music group that played on Saturday! I think it ****ed them off quite a lot! =D
