Hey all,

Kotaku.com said:
Later this week, Microsoft is due to host a big press conference in London. What's on the table? Oh, full integration of satellite television with the Xbox 360.

British site Rapid TV News claims that BSkyB (or Sky, as it's more commonly known), the UK's biggest pay TV provider, will announce tomorrow a deal linking its subscription TV services with Microsoft's console.

How this would work, exactly, is anyone's guess, but we'd imagine it would be similar to how the PlayStation 3 currently manages free-to-air TV in Europe with its PlayTV setup.

You know how the Netflix deal was big business for both Microsoft and Netflix in the US? With Sky's roster of sports in the UK, this would probably be just as successful in Ol' Blighty.

Discuss. :)

Looking forward to seeing what they might implement, that's for sure!

Sony did something like this with the PSP, a pay as you watch type thing. I expect it be a host of Sky TV programs including sky sports on the store for you to rent or buy. Whatever happened with there big link up with BT IPTV they announced a few years ago at E3 or GDC?
On a side note i heard hulu is coming to the UK when it gets its ads sorted which will be great.

Just thinking if it offers hd tv then ms are going to clean up. A 360 costs less than most freesat hd boxes and doesn't need a satellite dish. Please let it be hd tv!!!!

1. Get Sky.
2. Get an Xbox 360.
3. ??????
4. Profit!

I can't work out where the pair would 'gel' on this one. If you have Sky, you have your non-gaming home entertainment all sorted. What does the Xbox add to that picture?

You know if you have Sky you can already watch Sky sports, sky 1 etc for free streamed to your PC?

I can't watch Sky Sports live on my PC and i have the full package. Says i need to upgrade to the "Sky Player multiroom sub" or something like that.

haha.. sounds like a good idea; but I do wonder what 'edge' they're going to have or include by the partnership.

I've never wanted sky, but if they manage to make it so you can stream Live TV rather than hooking a dodgy looking dish to the side of your house I might give it a go.

I hope they bring a Netflix based system here though, On my max package with Tesco rentals I was only getting 4/5 films a month (10 with 2x at a time), waiting for deliveries was a pain also.

Us brits need more love :D.
