Erm? Manchester United and Liverpool won it recently, you can't expect an english team to win it every time.

They probably doing it to sell newspapers and the like, as english sport in england is more popular than spanish sport in england.

That's the thing, they're so close. It varies from game to game. If Ronaldo had the quality behind him that Messi had tonight we could all be saying he is the best player. I don't think it's clear cut either direction.

it was an oddly subdued performance from united I thought, changing tactics in the 2nd half just gave them loads more space to exploit. for the first 10 minutes barca weren't even in the game, though they were pretty good for the rest of the game.
and you're right about platini he looks like he's just won the lottery and been promised his pick of birds to be satisfied by.

Best team won, absolutely no complaints about the result or the scoreline. Hopefully the players come back stronger next season with the added experience of what it feels like to be on the losing side of a Champions League final, they won't want to repeat it. Our passing was woeful and some of the football played was suicidal. Barcelona's central midfield rarely lost the ball, if they didn't see a pass, they kept possession, moved into a different area of the field until they could pass. Massive contrast between the two sides there. Congratulations Barcelona, thoroughly deserved win and rightfully crowned Champions of Europe.
The sad thing is though, is that all you'll hear now is that 'it was only one game.' Whereas if it was the other way around the English media would be creaming themselves.
