just got a new motherboard, GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R rev 1.0.
current bios version is F3, latest is F6... I must upgrade as it won't even properly recognize my CPU (I7 920 D0).
What is the best way to update the BIOS then?
Running windows 7 - tried the "@BIOS" tool but it won't work... if that changes anything.

thanks

Do not use any Windows based flashing tools as you are likely to end up with a dead board. Download the bios and extract it to a USB stick and run Qflash in the bios.

Additionally, I had problems doing it this way at first. For some reason the board (in sig) seemed to have a problem with my 4gb usb stick although worked perfectly with a smaller, older one. Just something to note should you run into problems with Qflash not seeing the bios file on the mem stick.

i have falshed my bios from windows before, though i would never do it again, i didnt really realise at the time the risks of doing it that way and how often it backfired in a very bad way, but luckily it worked that time fine :P but wont be doing that again!

use usb and qflash like others have said :P

Hehe floppy disk, they'll never get rid of it, it's seen off the cd-rom and I'm sure it'll do the same with the bluray disc too, progress can take a strange path :p
