My DDR31600MHz is currently set to 9-9-9-24 but what should the voltage settings be in my BIOS to run stable?
Thanks.
corei7920 OC'd to 3.2
GTX295
P6T deluxe V2
12GB GSKILL PI DDR3 1600MHz
My current settings are:
QPI/DRAM core voltage: 1.6
IOH VOLTAGE: 1.3
ICH VOLTAGE: 1.4
DRAM BUS VOLTAGE: 1.7

First things first lower the Dram Bus Voltage down to 1.64 or 1.66 and lower Qpi/dram core down to 1.35. Then check the maker of your ram's website for rated speeds/timings and recommended voltages.
What mobo are you using?

I am using an ASUS P6T deluxe v2.
Funny you say they need lowered as the PC was meant to have been overclocked to a stable position by the supplier.

I'm using a P6T so i presume the bios is almost identical.

My settings for my 3.8 oc
QPI/DRAM core voltage: 1.33
IOH VOLTAGE: 1.1
ICH VOLTAGE: 1.1
DRAM BUS VOLTAGE: 1.64

As you can see mine voltages are a lot lower. My ram is only running at around 1400+mhz as its only 1333mhz rated. But i still say you settings are very high.
Depending on what your BLCK is at set your ram to the closest rated speeds and set timings and volts too.

Wait for a 2nd opinion on the settings but i'm sure it will be similar to what i said.

Thanks for the help,I am running a corei7920 at 3.2 GHz.
I am putting in a GTX295 tomorrow and I just want the PC to be stable.
What should my BLCK be set to?
I don't know why but they have the DRAM timings at 9-9-9-24.
If I run my DRAM at 1600 in BIOS, what should my other settings be set to for stability?
I don't see the point in overclocking my RAM.

Every system will preform slightly different with the same settings.I presume your 3.2 OC has the BLCK set to 160 with a 20x multiplier as that gives the choice of approx 1600mhz for your ram.
You need to look around in your bios to see if anything else has been changed as whoever did the OC was not very good at it imo.

These approx. settings should be stable on your rig.If your using a DO revison cpu lower CPU CORE and QPI/DRAM core down a bit more.
BLCK: 160
CPU CORE voltage: 1.30-1.35
QPI/DRAM core voltage: 1.30-1.35
IOH VOLTAGE: 1.1
ICH VOLTAGE: 1.1
DRAM BUS VOLTAGE: 1.64-1.66 (recommend 1.64)

It really is trial and error to find the right settings for what OC your looking for.I hope this gives you a start but try reading up a few guides for i7 as they explain things better than me;)

I will change my settings to what you have recommended.
Should I set my DRAM timings to 8-8-8-21 instead of 9-9-9-21?
It states 8-8-8-21 on the memory modules.
My BLCK is set to 160 like you said but I don't know how I know it's on a 20x multiplier.
I think the CPU says it's a CO/C1 revision if that makes sense.

Yes set the timings manually. Its the top 4 settings in "Dram timing control".
Set the multiplier under "Cpu ratio setting" to 20.
Since you have the same cpu revision as me you may need a little bit more CPU core voltage but as i said all similar hardware can run differently.

What are you using to monitor temps as our CO Cpu's run hot?

My settings are as follows?
BLCK: 160
PCIE:100
DRAM FREQ:DDR3 1604MHz
DRAM TIMINGS are 9-9-9-24, DRAM TIMING MODE: 2N
CPU VOLTAGE: 1.25
CPU PLL VOLTAGE:1.90
QPI/DRAM CORE VOLTAGE: 1.6
IOH VOLTAGE: 1.3
ICH VOLTAGE: 1.4
DRAM BUS VOLTAGE:1.70
Everything else is AUTO.
My setup is:
corei7920 OC'D to 3.2, CPU-Z is stating it's C0/C1 revision.
ASUS P6T deluxe V2,
G.SKILL DDR3 1600MHz 1.6-1.65v.
All of your help is much appreciated.
Just trying to get my system running right and stable.
Just to clarify,my memory should be set at 1600MHzin the bios?

ok ram is fine and i would put Dram timing mode to auto.
Then try those Voltage setting i posted. You might get away with leaving CPU Voltage at 1.25 but as i said it may work on your rig but not mine.
Make sure you monitor temps while stress-testing OC.
I use Intelburntest V2.1 for a quick stress-test first as its very short (approx 15 mins) compared to Prime95.

CPU voltage 1.25

IOH voltage 1.10
ICH voltage 1.10
DRAM bus voltage 1.64
is this ok?

Does raising the voltage increase reliability
Yes it does.try 1.30 for your cpu core volt.
If that dosen't work try raising it slightly each time.
Remember more volt mean more heat.
The hardware error was when you where stressing it yes?

No,when I exit the BIOS to windows.
I reverted back to the original settings and I have just DL'ed intelburntest.
I don't know why it did that.

I run burntest in standard and it passed but in maximum setting it seems to run but give no readings.
Run max settings with 8 threads.this will stress it fully and slow tdown you pc a bit too.Takes a lot longer than standard test.(approx 15-20mins)

It won't let me run it,it says not enough memory available.
I am running vista memtest now.
I have it running now on maximum with 8 threads.
I will report back once finished.
Thanks for your help,I owe you one.
