If you are a politician, you can claim rent for living with family, and then pay the rent to your "daughter".

Now i must rant on because i cannot phone the radio show that i am now listening to, because i am on bottle 2 of wine.

When i became unemployed, i told the DHS that i lived with my sister, they told me if i lived with my family then i could not get full benefits because my family could (and were expected} to look out for me.

WTF. Makes you want to get hold of these people and wring their ****ing necks.

I also hope they get onto councilors wages because i know of some that get over 100k per year in my town.

So you're too drunk to dial a few numbers but can write a post on a forum?

You'd probably be doing more with your opinion if you were to ring the radio show, tbh, as more people will likely hear it - and you speak sense.

Yea you are right, however despite how much hatred is flowing through the country over this issue, i can see them eventually (after several people been made scapegoats im sure) brushing this under the carpet as that just seems to be the british way.

That's exactly how it'll happen. We already have some of them resigning (those with a working conscience), but I very much doubt any of them will face any legal repercussions.

I read in the FT that 100 are potentially on the chopping board, id be suprised if 20 get fired over it, and whats all this rubbish over them resigning at the "next election", what? if anybody else in the country carried on like they did they would be in jail.

The sad thing is if they do come down on them over the second homes and a typical brownite (lets punish everyone for the minority) policy comes in, people who do have second homes quite legitimatly are going to loose there tax allowences as well i was reading.

Yep, the usual short-sightedness from the Government.

Instead of duly punishing the guilty individuals, the entire class (as it were) are punished. Those who played by the book (ethically) are going to be the most affected. For the rest, they'll simply see it as their time in the lap of luxury having ended - no big deal or loss.

I am not to drunk but my anger will make me sound drunk , (if you know what i mean).

One reason i have posted this is to make people see what is going on.

I bet most people didn't know this.

THEY CAN CLAIM FOR LIVING WITH FAMILY............

BUT YOUR BENEFIT GETS CUT.

I know exactly what you mean. You don't want to sound like some crazy rambling, bumbling drunk idiot trying to get your point across.

I spent a good deal of time exactly like that due to clinical depression with my mind firing 400 different thoughts and opinions every second. I even wrote to my MP explaining it!

Alcohol makes it all a bit clearer for me, which is sad.....helps to isolate the threads that are actually "myself", so to speak.

What benefits are you expecting? All you will get is JSA.

If you lived separately you may be eligible for housing benefits. Thats it. You would only get this with your family, if the household income is below the respective thresholds.

I'd be very careful comparing occupational compensation/expenses with benefits.

It winds me up no end, the community infrastructure levy, empty rates on commercial buildings, speeding in general, the smoking ban.. (insert stupid policy here). When will it end.

WTF are you on about, it is not about me.

I understand perfectly. You're ranting about double standards.

I don't understand.

Your first post was "get a job" I don't need one or your money, i have my own money witout expenses.

The example i used was when i was in work and looking for somewhere to live..............years gone bye now.

I am 50 now so the rat run is of no concern to me, i must be allowed to get angry and voice my opinion against injustice, which is what is happenning now.

I was more talking about the way your agument was coming across.

I do agree with your point though, but it's not exactly anything new. One rule for the higher-ups and another for the rest of us is something that goes back to the dawn of political hierarchy. It's not new or suprising. Sadly it's just how things are, have always been, and will probably always be.

You are sad, you are on the largest web site in the UK and you think you can't influence opinion?.

Start a new thread, ie
Join with me to force a general election. etc etc.

This is one of the things that the internet can do.
