Hi, just put together a new system, with the hardware above, build went well, no trouble until turning it on that is, system will not boot with three sticks of memory installed, will work with two so booted into windows grabed the latest bios, installed and tried again.... still no boot with three sticks, tried each stick and they all work, just the motherboard will not boot with three installed. :(

Little help?

Another issue however unrelated to the motherboard, maybe.. Also bought an 4870X2, but when I install the latest driver from AMD's site C9.5, the driver after rebooting tells me I have NO ATi driver installed... Great...

First of all have you tried using each stick of RAM individually? Try Running Memtest with each individual stick installed.... if okay on all you may have a duff slot on the board which would mean RMA maybe?

If its a new mobo have you made sure, other than the bios, that you have the chipset drivers installed and have the upto date service pack for your O/S, I had a similar problem with my 4870 because my chipset drivers had been overlooked by me! :S

Hope this helps, could you post your full specs, might help those here much wiser than I help diagnose the problem!

Yes I have, they work fine if I use them as a pair or individually, just not with three sticks.

The annoying thing is I don't know if this is a compatibility issue with the motherboard, or a dodgy motherboard ior even dodgy memory which only shows issues when using triple channel.

I got the ATI drivers to install, however getting artifacts in vantage on first test, I was told over at rage3d this is normal!.. nice.

Just a **** in the dark, have you checked the ram voltages?

Maybe but tell me which do I set to 1.65, Dram Bus Voltage or QPI/Dram Core Voltage, selecting either to this voltaged turns it red, so the bios thinks at least that this is an unsafe setting.

Which do I set and is this normal?

Dram Bus Voltage is the one you set.It will only let you set 1.64 or 1.66,i set mine to 1.64v.That will keep it outta the red.

A bit different, but I'm having a similar problem with an LGA775 Asus board and OCZ RAM. Works fine with three out of four sticks, won't boot with four. Beginning to think that Asus and OCZ just isn't a good combination.

Thanks, made no difference which wasnt much of a supprise, default is 1.50v and it's only running at 1066...

Meh, can anyone tell me what memory does work with this motherboard? that they've personnally tested?

Also why are OCUK selling memory thats not compatible with motherboards they sell? one of the most popular motherboards to, do they test any of this stuff?

My P6T will not boot with the memory @ 1900mhz. Judging by the RAM compatability list, it is very fussy with very high speed memory. So I have mine set at 1523mhz and it works fine.

I wish it was a case of just lowering the speed here but it's running at 1066 here, nothings been changed except the memory voltage, everythings still at stock. :(

Tried re-install and HD4870X2 seems to be performing a little better, but still nowhere near where it should be, vantage gpu score is at around 14500 and 7200 at extreme settings which seems a bit crap for crossfire.

For some reason there are weird artifacts still, and during the first test it becomes a slideshow when the crate hits the water...

Tried Crysis just for the sake of it and it was pretty unplayable with high settings, weird thing is if I don't touch anything the framerate looks good but the moment I start moving the mouse it's around 10fps lower... LOL

/facepalm
