I would be more inclined to believe it's a data card slot.

No UMD seems dire, only stuff thats on PSN then which is basically nothing. Although I imagine they will start converting psp titles onto PSN bigtime now.

Are yeah it could be a MC slot, would make far more sense, expandable memory and being able to swap games in and out. I guess some kind of key will be saved on the internal drive to say you have the original game.

From some original leek there is supposed to be 100+ psp games ready for the store when it comes out. Wont take Sony long to bung all the big games onto a server i guess, the thing is and ive always wondered is how if you have an old PSP play your old games on this one?

And also it has been rumoured that that there will be 'SOMETHING' that will allow you to transfer your old UMDs onto the new system, it might be in-store type transfer station or some form of transfer kit.

Or even better, just pay the artist of this for his design!

All it needed was an OLED screen, and dual analogues. Ditching the UMD was OK, a redesign - fine. If they'd added a touch screen, that would've been cool too, but no. They can't deliver what the community has been screaming out for. Dual, two, 2, duo, deux analogue sticks.

I think it looks horrendously uncomfortable to use and the analog is in a mind bogglingly stupid place.
Wonder when release date will be for this and if its some way off could we see another big redesign like the PS3 boomerang controller incident.

I think that would be a good design for the PSP2, two sticks and higher resolution. Move the left analogue stick though!

If it had an OLED screen, it could be a thin as they want, so it could be recessed behind for the buttons. Or just, adapted somehow. I just want that as my PSP.

Anyone who plays Monster Hunter Freedom will see that Analog stick location as a massive flaw.

And I agree with D_D_Danneh, they really should have listened to the fans and gone for a design similar to the one you posted.

Thing should be touch screen would help when closed, also its supposed to weigh 110g approx, thats about the same as a nokia 5800, less than an iphone or n96 and close to half that of a DSi.

Eurogamer has some clearer pictures up.

I think it looks cool until it is opened out. The stick looks like it is in the wrong place, and it just looks ugly. The Bluetooth and no UMD are good though.

This will take a little bit of shine from their press conference, but Im sure they will have a few other surprises left.
