Hey,
i have had alook on google and this forum but i couldnt seem to find it the answer.

So anyway, I have a dual monitor setup my primary monitor being a hp 7500 17" Crt @ 1024x728 res and my second monitor being a Viewsonic vx2260wm 22" @ 1920x1080

my setup looking like so :

Now, what i am wanting to do is be able to play some games in my crt ( i like playing most fps games on my crt as it can handle high refresh rates )
And be able to play other games in my other monitor (warcraft3, dota , C&c ect)

Of course not at the same time, just being able to set the game so it will launch either in my primary or secondry monitor ( and having the option in game to set it as full resolution )

So is there any software i can use that will be able to do this? I have an ATI x1950pro if that helps at all. Atm i am using a program called display fusion so that i can have 2 different background on each monitor.

Thanks for looking.

I'm certainly not aware of anything that will do this on a generic level, however when I played Eve Online there was an app that allowed you to re-target the game to a different screen - so it might be that you would need to find a launcher for each of the games you play that will support re-targeting of the display.

I believe Ultramon lets you choose which monitor you want fullscreen apps to run on, if you rightclick the app shortcut there should be a tab that lets you choose.

yeah, they do launch in my primary, but i dont want to be changing my primary monitor all the time as it changes other stuff

Well it depends on you gfx card and drivers. I just change all my monitors about to whatever config they need to whatever screen CRT/LCD and HDTV... I think I can even set up hot key shortcuts to various profiles....

Just a lot of fiddling about. I've found in 10 years of dual monitor setups that you ALWAYS have to compromise somewhere, on something, either performance, convience, functionality etc. Especially when you have a mix of screen types and sizes.

The bottom line is that a lot of software / games or othersie just don't handle multimonitors well enough to always work in every siutation.

Its good man i worked it out.

i have set up ultramon so that when i press a hotkey it will change the primary monitor over to my viewsonic. The only downer is that all the icons mess up and the background goes crazy. But other than that it good :]

thanks guys
