HSBC cards down?

my GF's card got declined despite having more than enough available funds, called india to have a go and she was told that there is an issue with debit cards and none of them are working at present.

Anyone else had problems?
 
Just tried paying for a chinese and mines declined, yet internet banking works fine :(

I deffo have enough funds but it's not working (Visa Debit)

On the phone to HSBC and haven't had an answer yet, so I'm sure it's an issue their end.
 
Just tried to do a BT with mine and it said "We are unable to deal with your payment request."
Internet banking has been on and off this morning too.
 
ye I also got an error when trying to do a BT with HSBC online banking. First time in years I have had this problem with them to be fair

Same here, phoned up and apparently they are updating the systems...

However my dads HSBC account still works but mine doesnt :mad:

Internet banking wont work, card declined and it just spits it out if i request anything at a cash point.

Well thats crap. They're basically saying I can't have lunch today? :(
 
Is it Maestro or Visa and have you had a new card recently. I deal with at least one person a day having a go saying their card is broken when they received a Visa card a month ago and didn't read the letter that stated it needs to be activated and used.

Visa. I've activated it and have been using it for the last month...
 
Was down for me. Internet banking was down earlier but I thought nothing of it. Went into town and my card was declined so I spent ages waiting to get through to a customer services representative at HSBC, and they said it would be fixed 2-3 hours time (this was about an hour ago) which wasn't of much good to me.

Had to ring my flatmate to come out to pay for my things :o
