ahhh those were the days. When a mb cost £40+I was the same.
I went from a 386SX25 to a 386DX40 and I wondered what I'd done.

did you get everything brand new? if so send them back under 7 days and get your money back.
Halp! I has moar munies than sense!

Swap it with me for my ipod touch and netbook. Then you will be cool sat in starbucks AND pull way more chicks than ever. After all, no chick is going to come back to yours just to checkout your i7 and trichannel DDR3 memory.
Yeah but everythings opened up, put together and boxes are gone, anything I can still do?
Oh btw, I got an I7 920 with 6Gb of Ram, ATI 4890, UD5 motherboard, just waaaaaay more than I needed.
And yes I did spend more than what made sense.
No boxes means you can't get a refund but you could always sell it if you are that determined to recoup your money.
I would just put it down to experience though and decide to enjoy your purchase. It isn't especially extravagant really.

tbh i still have a lot of the boxes, i mainly referred to some of the internal packaging etc. I've only ever used laptops, so moving from one of those straight to a full tower is terrifying and im really not sure what to do.
If you have the boxes then you can get a refund although expect to suffer a 20% 'restocking fee'. Some retailers may even refuse a refund even though you are entitled to one.
