Buyers remorse after buying computer?

I would imagine lots of us have had the same issue at some stage. I remember buying a PC based around a P100 back in '96 or so. I talked myself into an extra 32Mb of RAM, a 1Mb graphics card and a monster 1.2Gb drive! Cost an arm and a leg at the time.

Look at it as future-proofing, and enjoy it.

did you get everything brand new? if so send them back under 7 days and get your money back.

Yeah but everythings opened up, put together and boxes are gone, anything I can still do?

Oh btw, I got an I7 920 with 6Gb of Ram, ATI 4890, UD5 motherboard, just waaaaaay more than I needed.

And yes I did spend more than what made sense.

I think part of the reason why people buy parts that they want over what they need is sometimes just for curiosity and experimenting. Wouldn't it be great to be able to try before you buy? :D

Well I paid £120 +£80 fitting for 4Mb of RAM in a Radio Rentals PC back in '94, just so I could play Wing Commander 3.

Personally I would feel no guilt at all...
You've built a machine which will be future proof for at least, oh three months.
You've supported the UK economy at a time of recession.
The VAT will help an MP with their mortgage payment this month.
It could all end in 2012 or even sooner when North Korea pull up their cargo ship off Manhattan Island and everything goes white.
You could get squished by a bus tomorrow.

So...enjoy!

Swap it with me for my ipod touch and netbook. Then you will be cool sat in starbucks AND pull way more chicks than ever. After all, no chick is going to come back to yours just to checkout your i7 and trichannel DDR3 memory.

You suck at finding the right kind of girls.......

No boxes means you can't get a refund but you could always sell it if you are that determined to recoup your money.

I would just put it down to experience though and decide to enjoy your purchase. It isn't especially extravagant really.

Why did you get rid of the boxes? What if you need to return anything later? are you stupid, or just a bit of a gayer who likes to waste money.

I've been on sk.939 for AGES and i'm still hoping to get a good few more years out of it!

I love messing around with it more then buying new parts I think!

no not without original boxes. even with no intention of sending them back it's always a good idea to keep all boxes for warranty and resale.

see it as an investment and a lesson learned. it will last you a long time.

tbh i still have a lot of the boxes, i mainly referred to some of the internal packaging etc. I've only ever used laptops, so moving from one of those straight to a full tower is terrifying and im really not sure what to do.

If you have the boxes then you can get a refund although expect to suffer a 20% 'restocking fee'. Some retailers may even refuse a refund even though you are entitled to one.

I actually bought the parts from here OCUK, do you know their attitude towards this?
