went to a reservoir yesterday. I was wondering what these pillars were for? you can see one in the pic.. there were 3 on the other side of the reservoir in a row

you sure they aren't water markers for when it gets higher. Maybe something to put a wall up when it floods, or maybe pumps of some sort? Maybe even some way of water levelling.

Judging by the distinct tapering angles, the overall height, the typically dawdy grey colouring & the classical orientation I have came to the conclusion that it is infact a piece of concrete in the middle of nowhere
