Due to being "in the sticks" I dont get the 24mb limits that London gets treated to, so am limited to 8mb ADSL connection.

At the moment I am paying £27 a month for a connection that only gives me a 50gb limit. As I sometimes have to restrain myself from downloading anything large, is there a service that would give me a maximum download limit in my area? I only have ADSL max, and all offers I have seen only let me have a 50gb monthly usage limit. I tried O2, but most of the time I only had download speeds that are like dial-up speeds, so I left them sharpish!

Be internet??...im on there pro package and get 18mb and 2mb up and as far as im aware there are no download caps in place...seeing as i near enough download close to 50+gb a month:p.

Im happy with Virgin, 10mb constant speed at a cheap cost

Virgin has rubbish limits mate, have 10 meg here myself, if u download like a gig during the day u are throttled to an ass speed for like 5 hours.

My vote goes to Be*, had them in my last house and were excellent.

downloaded loads during the day, never had an issue (although i do read what you say on their website)
Im normally working during the day and the mass downloads i generally run on the laptop over night

Bethere.

I get 24.5Mb download and 2.8Mb Uploads.

I've downloaded huge amounts of data, I regularly download whole series of anime or TV shows in HD so I can do a good few hundered GBs per month.

I think I've downloaded almost a TB close to when I first got it.

I only pay £15 a month too, I recently emailed them and literally said 'can I have a discount please? and 3 months free?' and they gave it to me.

So I've saved around £64 for 3 months free and from then on £15 a month so I'll be saving about £6.50 a month. I'm on BePro by the way.

Id love to join BE There or Virgin, but unfortunatly im not in a LLU services, and on my exchange I can only get ADSL Max, which means nothing more than 8mb downloads, which limits me greatly to all the good packages out there, and not in a 21st CN, and the reason most give me a 50gb monthly cap is because they say they have to pay BT for my services, so nobody seems to want to give me an Unlimited package :(

Be are available on non-LLU enabled exchanges. Or at least I thought so.

I have tapped in my phone number with BE* and they say it is not available in my area. As I have no LLU services in my area, it limits me greatly

It looks like as I am on BT Wholesale only, nobody wants to give me an Unlimited package. It seems that 50gb cap is as high as it goes for me!

Plenty of good ISPs can deliver an unlimited service over BTW, but probably not for the sort of money you're prepared to pay.

I'm restricted to an 8mb adsl max line since moving house, i'm on Eclipse home pro 50gb between 9am - 11pm then unlimited all through to the morning. Suits me fine and get full speed during day and night thanks to sensible useage limits.

So are all 8Mb services BT wholesale? I was with UKOnline before bethere and I'm pretty sure they used BTwholesale. I always had an unlimted download though.

Would this be something new on BT wholesale? As I've always been on unlimited broadband packages.

In total I've been on NDO, UKOnline and Bethere for Broadband and they've all been unlimited and on BT wholesale (except bethere of course).

No, but most (all until relatively recently) ADSL through BT Wholesale is up to 8Mbps.

In the sense that Capacity Based Charging made unlimited extremely expensive circa 3 years ago.

It's possible the UKOnline connection was through their LLU operation.

As im in what is classed as "Market 1" on Samknows, it means that I have no LLU in my area, and doubt I will for a long time to come, so the companies that can supply me slap a usage limit due to BT Wholesale charging the companies to use there lines, and cannot therefore offer me Unlimited packages, as they dont have there own equipment in the exchange, so my hands are tied, whoever I go with there is always a monthly cap
