Any Guin Saga fans here?

I only just read that the author died 3 days ago which is such a shame, but at least she has left quite a famous legacy and lived to see it being adapted into an Anime series which started last month.

Now I just wonder how far the Anime will go as the source material is way too much.

Watched a couple of episodes, stopped as I'm a little busy at the mo, will get back on it when I have a chance as it looked to have potential.

Yep, Good Smile Company no. 53 Nendoroid. I've been getting figures, unless they are easily available elsewhere, from benippon.com (note that they charge you before they try to source the item (and refund quickly if they can't ... and I have had that once) and EMS shipping is expensive and you will be ******** for Parcel Force fees. But I've found them very good at sourcing hard to find things, even from the Japanese used market, and their packing of shipments is some of the best I have seen)
The prices seem pretty much on a par with some of the others I've seen but they do look to have quite a nice range compared with some of the others. And parcel force have always been like that :)

I did get a nice Tomoyo figure the other day from them (used) .... if you search for Tomoyo on there it's the only figure result (and in fact the review on there for it is mine).

I first started using them when I wanted to get Ayu from Kanon and it was difficult to even get fakes out of Hong Kong let alone the genuine article. They used to be quite good for magazines to until the exchange rate went to pot ... you could order a subscription for say Megami and even with shipping it worked out a few quid per issue cheaper than sourcing it in the UK.

By the way, with Kanon if people have the new thinpak set how are your hubs?

I have the original art box release but a friend got the thinpak release the other day and all the hubs were damaged to the extent that all disks were floaters (only 2 or 3 tabs left). I had to source some replacement double, clear thinpaks for him (which wasn't that easy)

Just started watching Gurren Lagann and really enjoying it. Great characters and what seems to be a pretty good plot emerging. Just finished episode 8 :(

I wasn't a fan of the flashback episode so early on, however i read that that's because they actually censored the episode or something? Basically they had to remove a huge chunk of the episode so instead just stuck some flashbacks in.

...wonder if the girls got em out in it.

:E

Watched the Freedom 7-part OVA series today. I thought it was pretty good with some similarities to Akira in the character styling. I was watching the Blu-ray boxset so image and sound was very good. And the plot isn't bad either, although it's good to see that hundreds of years in the future after a global cataclysm that Cup Noodles are still available as a "food" supply :p:D

Oddly enough i ordered the BR boxset from Right Stuff yesterday :D
Having watched:o,i decided i liked it so much i wanted to buy the set
What sort of job did they do with the English VA`s?
Apparently Freedom was sponsored/paid for by a `cup noodle` company which is why you see pot noodle in every other scene lol

Yep, it was a promotional project by Nissin Cup Noodles so the animation on the snacks is lovely and clear :) I don't know how the English VA's were though as I watched it in Japanese with subs.

I wouldn't (and didn't) get it from TRSI though as they are not showing any stock for it and are charging $104+shipping (~£65+shipping) .... the UK Rainforest site have the Freedom Blu-ray box set in stock (just) for £54.98 with free delivery with 'Prime so you could get it cheaper and by Tuesday ;). UP have it for an even more outrageous £87.36 for what looks like what I've got (box with slip cover, booklet, 4x Blu-ray disks)

Bugger :(
off to see if i can cancel then, did not realise it was cheeper @ the rainforest
the rainforest do seem to be getting some good deals on the more popular anime series at the moment, not that I'm complaining of course as its usually my first port of call for my dvds anyways (I go elsewhere if I think its expensive) :o.

I normally have a look around the usual suspects if I am planning to get something just to make sure I'm not paying way over the odds ... normally I end up at UP for pre-orders as it's convenient for R1 stuff, Rainforest for R2 stuff and cheap manga via the other sellers, but I'll check elsewhere to.

I only end up at TRSI if it's a very good deal due to the shipping costs, shipping time, customs costs and having to have it delivered to the card holder address.

I try not to impulse buy any more.

Couple of bits of news. Apparently a 3rd series for Shana and a 2nd series of Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu have both been confirmed in the latest issue of Dengeki Bunko, the latter to start airing in October.

Hopefully that will give someone like Funimation the push to license the first season of Haruka.

About damn time there will be a 3rd season of Shana since the ending of the 2nd just totally left us at an interesting point. J.C.Staff will certainly be very busy with a possible continuation of To Aru Majutsu no Index and of course the upcoming adaption of the spin-off, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun.

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu 2nd season has been confirmed for a while and I look forward to that since I enjoyed really it.

Just got confirmation of my cancellation of trsi order.Off to the rainforest to get it cheeper there(For some reason i always forget to check there for Anime/dvds etc)
Good news about Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu.Am re watching this now ;)

Haven't even watched the first shana let alone the second one yet :(
Woohoo over Haruka, loved the first series, she was just so damned cute (as an anime character) but I do question where exactly this series is going to go, it tied up pretty well in the first one :s

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, I'd rather have more of index but theres no info about a new one of that that I know of

Its been rumoured that there was a third season of Shakugan no Shana in production for a while so im glad its been confirmed now :). The first two series were excellent for the most part.

Wondering if we'll see it for the fall/winter season of this year.
