I think there are a couple of Cayman owners. Looking at a new model Cayman (2.9L).

From what I can see, it needs serviced every 2 years at a cost of ~£450 (I'd be leasing for 3 years, meaning only 1 service needed). On top of that, brake fluid needs doing at about £150.

What other costs are there? Porsche warranty is 2 years? So 1 year of extra cover for say £450 via Tesco Finest?

The only other thing I can think of is tyres - how much (18" wheels)?

Finally - what are your average fuel economy figures? I'm not too concerned with this, but it would be nice to know some real world figures.

depends on the tyres, the wider c2s reps are around 250 a corner the gayman specific wheels are cheaper but still 150 ish.

get the 'S' the standard gayman is beyond dull and ten minutes driving the 's' will confirm that you need to find the extra cash for the upgrade! think I averaged around 15-18 mpg but i do drive like a knob everywhere.

To be fair, you can have the full leather option on the Cayman....

220ish for tyres. Expect to go through 2-3 sets of rears, 1-2 set of fronts.

OPC prices and schedule here;

Indy prices are roughly 200 for a minor service, 50 for a fluid change.

Nothing else required, assuming millage doesn't pass 40K in the first 2 years.

People do recommend oil changes after ever 5K, depends on how much you want to look after it.

I didnt mind it at all, was a decent enough car, the interior was way too plasticy for me but was well planted on the road, a manual box would have definitely been a lot more fun.

check the difference in the interiors

What's that SOS button? Is that for when you are up in flames after sliding backside into a tree? :D

instead of trunk monkey you get a small german midget ninja, he is pretty useful but requires a large amount of sausages to recharge him :(

I've never pressed that button, just went and tried and it doesnt seem to do anything, but I dont have a SIM card for the phone atm so thats probably why :p

SOS sends your GPS location to the emergency service using the sim card installed in the PCM.

Not tried using mine either....

Thanks for the replies!

Porsche warranty is 2 years isn't it? How much is their own warranty extension for 1yr?

^^ Thats the relatives.

A family member has just purchased a Cayman S, 2007, in White. Paid £30k for it, and it looks/sounds awesome.

A guy I know just got promoted into the premiership in the playoffs and has bought a white one with the black multispokes.

Looks awesome!
