The Sims 3 on PC Features:

New Seamless, Open Neighborhood—Explore the neighborhood freely. Your Sims can roam throughout their neighborhood, visit neighbors’ homes, and explore the surroundings. They can stroll downtown to hang out with friends, meet someone new at the park, or run into colleagues on the street. If your Sims are in the right place at the right time, who knows what might happen?!
New Create A Sim—Create any Sim you can imagine in The Sims 3. New easy-to-use design tools allow for unlimited customization to make truly individual Sims. Determine your Sims’ shape and size, from thin to full-figured to muscular—and everything in between! Choose your Sims’ facial features, their exact skin tone, hair, eye shape and color and select their clothing and accessories.
Sims 3 on PC has New Realistic Personalities—Every Sim is a unique person, with a distinct personality. Create realistic Sims with distinctive personalities. Select from dozens of personality traits and combine them in fun ways. The combination of traits you choose—brave, artistic, loner, perfectionist, klepto, romantic, clumsy, paranoid, and much, much more—help shape the behavior of your Sims and how they interact with other Sims. Your Sims can now rise above their basic set of every day needs. They are complex individuals with unique personalities.
New Unlimited Customisation—Everyone can customize everything in The Sims 3! Build your dream house or design the ultimate home. Customise everything from floors to flowers, shirts to sofas, wallpaper to window shades. It’s fun and easy to change colors and patterns giving you endless personalisation options. Or you can populate your Sims’ neighborhood with pre-designed buildings and furnishings. Which of your Sims will live in high-end mansions, cool bachelor pads, ultimate dream homes or low-cost cottage?

Actually looking forward to this i own Sims and Sims 2 but never bothered with the twenty odd expansions. There seems to be a lot more into this game making it a lot more interesting than just dealing with your house.

No doubt the missus will want this.

She had the first two (plus a couple of expansions) but all she ever does is use it to design the homes, then see what sadistic ways she can kill her Sims! ;)

Always liked the Sims games, they're good to kill a day or two :)

Got this on preorder for me and the missus :)

She's a much bigger fan than me though but I'll still have a blast on it for a day or two.

So, is it any good, what do people think of it ( is it out yet ?) ?

I liked sims1 up to hot date, sims 2 was rubbish, post hot date they made the game too complicated, eg. the new relations system, traveling away from home, etc...

Sims+ livin large + house party rocked.

Hot date ruined it.

All the following: magic, vacation, superstar are stupid and pointless.

I never needed to try and kill the it was just par for the course. My last one died in a fire because the wall phone was above the sofa and she couldn't lean over it to call the fire brigade. Don't think I'll buy this one :D

It's alright. I quite like it. Instead of there being loading screens when you go around the map to other lots, it is just one big map (not sure of the words to use). Oh and you can overclock your computer. :p

The gf is obsessed with sims 2 at the moment, and keeps going on about this Sims 3 as if its actually a good game  I'll have to keep trying to convince her that COD4 is the way to go :D

Tut tut :P

Girlfriend loves Sims 2, which keeps me happy, she can play Sims 2 on her PC and I can sit next to her and play wow etc :D

She is really looking forward to this game, she will spend hours just customising her sims/house
