Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe work with AM2+?

I have the motherboard stated in the thread title. I'm wanting to upgrade my current dual-core processor to a quad-core and was wondering if anyone has successfully used an AM2+ processor with this board?

I currently have an Athlon X2 dual core 5600+

Would be hoping to upgrade to this:

Also, if it does work with this motherboard, will I be able to simply switch the processors over without having to reinstall windows etc?

However, quick word of warning:

I had the same board and tried to upgrade to the 955BE, and it didn't work. =( But might've just been me.

There is a list of "supported" processors on the Asus site, but I don't think the 940 is on there, and that's a general success with most people, as far as I can tell. =)

Nice one - was it a simple case of switching the processors over or did you have to reinstall windows/update bios etc?

All I did was to flash my bios before I installed the CPU, the start with default settings even though the bios displays the chip as unknown the other setting are ok, and it over clocks with no problems using the dedicated bios over clocking facility. Yes, I did reinstall the OS, it is good to do if you are upgrading from dual to quad core, it is like going from 45 mph to 130 mph. I have been building PC for 10 years, this is the biggest single jump I have made in speed, and I have spent the least amount money to do it, a true bargain.

You are right, but if you read the Asus forum for this board you will see that there is quite a few of us successfully running the 940 on this board. That why I had the courage from to go out and buy the chip in the first place.
