Never picked up on this before - I love zombie films too.

Left 4 Dead's 'Witch' character has the same sound FX (evil breathing / twinkly music) as Ash's girlfriend in The Evil Dead. It's so eerily similar.

Any others?

All the World War 2 games that took inspiration from films, Saving Private Ryan and MOHAA, COD1 and UO with Band of Brothers & Enemy at the Gates, COD2 with the Longest Day...the list goes on.

Bioshock's a pretty decent example - admittedly it's not a film that it's based on, but it does borrow heavily from Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism, and particlarly her book, Atlas Shrugged.

Metal gear solid 4 has a great one. At certain moments during the game if it mentions a character/moment from the previous games you can press X and it'll quickly flash a screenshot of that character/moment to help jog your memory.

At one moment snake and some chick are stood there with a spider monkey in the middle holding hands with both of them, if you press X at that moment it shows a shot of close encounters of the third kind, more specifically the moment when the tall aliens are coming out of the spaceship.

Made me lol.

During the Sony press conference in the God of War 3 trailer when Kratos got out his flaming bow I could've sworn I heard a sound effect from the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon.

arma 2, in the first level briefing, in coop, you have the option to ask a question that "quotes aliens film"

'how do i get out of this chicken.....' etc. was quite funny!

The whole GTA series is riddled with them, take the original for example, you've got the "Speed" mission (bus explodes if the speedo drops below 50), "Die Hard 3" mission (driving a cab through Central Park) etc.

I'm fairly sure Serious Sam featured a couple too, although I'm damned if I can remember the specifics.

Old game now, but Blood was absolutely riddled with movie references.

I remember a wooden cabin that you entered, and on the wall was a hockey mask and when you walked in a sound effect of "kill kill kill" played.

There was also references in the game to The Shining, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Psycho and stacks of others.
