New UFC Game by THQ

Hoping your on the PS3 :D Hold right or left on the R3 thumbstick, you'll watch your fighter kind of sit up and back abit with his hands out ready to block the transition.

I've yet to get a submission - ever. :(

KO? No problem, I'll kick their face off. :D Just started another career specifically geared towards subs and I just can't do it. :(

OK, turned on my stamina bars and I STILL cant get a sub without giving a serious beating first!!!

I can take my opponent down and mount but his stamina just sits there while he outpoints me punching from the bottom!! I can either block punches or block transitions (although the transition block looks like I'm saying "please hit me!" ;)) but either way I cant get his stamina down!!!

Can anyone tell me for sure what actually constitutes a "strike"??? Am I allowed to knee whilst in side mount or elbow maybe???

I just cant see how to get a sub without hitting the other guy with SOMETHING!?!?!?

pick a wrestler, slams dont count as strikes, Slam, transition, block transition, more slams if he counters, then submit,

elbows and knees do count as strikes

sidemount is probably the best way to tire someone, so i'd go for that, he will try and reverse it by sitting up, block it a few times in a row and his stamina will drain to zero. Slap on a kimura, although it can still fail if you have a low sub attack I think, probably if he has high sub defence or strength too.

I tried sidemount but without me actually doing something, the other guys stamina just sat there!?!?

That's strange, when i play the guy on the bottom usually tries to escape, which causes his stamina to die. I'm playing on expert though.

Ah..... that might explain it - in just on beginner learning the ropes so the COM opponents arent as active!! I guess just lying there underneath me (ahem... ;)) doesnt take as much energy as trying to escape!!!!

I've just gone through the entire roster in exhibition mode and its not given me the "Roster Run Through" trophy!?!?!

Anyone got any ideas? I've definitely gone through everyone because the records section has a percentage next to all the fighters!

Any idea if you need to have downloaded Ryan Bader and Efrain Escudero and if you do, how can you get access to them as downloadable content??

Thanks guys.......

StevieP

How did you sort it? Did you have to have the downloaded fighters or had you just missed one out..?

You dont need the 2 extra fighters, I was using the records page to know if I'd used a fighter but those records also show up if you have used a fighter in the "Classic Fights" mode and I'd used Chuck Liddell to beat Tito Ortiz and hadnt used him in exhibition mode!
One quick KO with Chuck and the trophy was mine!!! :D

anyone know how many matches you have to play before a career is completed? or if not when a career ends?

I believe it's something like 40 fights and then you're forced to retire... not 100% sure though!

I think its 7 years ingame time. When your nearing the end Dana will send you a mail that will tell you that 1 year left is on your contract. You also have one just before your last fight.

I'm getting some serious rage with this game at the moment.

I have no trouble winning fights with stand up apart from the damn muay thai clinch, which i swear is impossible to get out of. I just had a fight with kendall grove and in the first round he ran out, clinched me and then knocked me out with knees to the head.

I have 70 Cardio, 70 strength and 50 speed so I can't see how that's a problem. All of my stats are at least 50 as well with kicks and submissions slightly higher.

I also have huge problems with the groundgame. I can't reverse anything no matter how much I try, and yet everything I do seems to get reversed.

I'm not even playing on the hardest difficulty either ;/ I'm on the one below :(

I'm enjoying this game, but I need a few hints and tips from you lot, please.

Firstly, I chose Muay Thai but my fighter can't do high kicks, why not?
Secondly, I have an (extremely un)impressive 8-6-0 fight record. I haven't been able to submit anyone yet, my BJJ skills suck. I do the BJJ training but can't complete many of the tasks because I don't actually know what position I need to be in to complete some of them. Is there any guide for the BJJ moves and positions? (the tutorial isn't particularly great).
Finally, how do you get into the full mount position? I only seem to get half mount and side control.

Anyone got any tips for me to get into the Full Mount Offence? I can get from side, or half guard straight to full mount but they always just hold me down and i can't ever raise up to punch them. Then i always get reversed sooner or later :/

missed out on a few grappling straining camp points because of it :(

edit - figured it out, it's a major transition
