Right, sort of conclusion from one of my earlier threads, decided im gonna geta 4890..

Not sure which one to get asus or the xfx..

2 games or a tweak, ive read you can just flash the xfx with asus bios etc for same result.

Ca the xfx be OC'd anywere near the asus etc?

Plus ive seen on the forum theres supposed to be some dodgy batches of the asus cards, i rly cant be arsed to RMA etc.

I went for the XFX in the end. Clocked to 900 / 1150 at the mo. Haven't really tried to push it any higher.

Has anyone tried the Asus Bios? Is it easy? I'm guessing it would invalidate the warranty?

No it doesnt validate warranty, but the best thing about it really is your warranty covers overclocking. Correct me if im wrong.

My fried had his asus up to 985/1150 or 1200

I too am in the same boat as one of my HD4870 died and i m affried to RMA it, cos it only shows its faults at load so OCCT and stuff

oh yeah and try not to buy factroy clocked onces as they cost more and you can do it your self :p

I always find that factory overclocked ones seem to get more juice out of them.

Price wise theres £5 difference.

xfx you get 2 free games (well 1)

And asus you get the voltage tweak..

not sure what to do, id rather get that warranty and a free game if the xfx can OC to almost the same speed.

I would perfer to go asus, tbh I know its bit more expesnive plus if you overclock it and kill the card asus WILL replace it ( thats nice of them) as for XFX the game it comes with (HAWX) i have anyway so I m not bothered, I heard the HIS turbo comes with stalker clear sky. The XFX has a longer warrnety but it does not cover overclocking :(

Asus is 3yrs warranty, XFX is 2yrs but the XFX is direct with OCUK...Leather mouse mat and voltage tweak would sway me to Asus.

i also understand that the asus card is coverd even if overclocked, do i have that information correct ?

in that case it will be the XFX as its cheaper :P just gotta be carefull with the voltage and clock don't wanna blow em up :(

Nevermind, Someone forgot to tell me it was out of stock!

xfx 275 here i come :)

im gonna have a copy of left 4 dead tonight unplayable!..unplayable.

the XFX HD4890 isnt :o your call :P oh wait a moment your mobo is SLI? no? you know what im thinking :P

Well nvidia can handle higher res with multi monitors, which i may be investing in soon :D

Upgrading to i7 or newer at xmas anyway, ill change to SLI then.

Too poor atm
