Terminator salvation first reviews (OMG SPOILERS)

***SPOILERS!!***

Do they actually have an effect on chavved up Corsas?

Anyway, I will watch this eagerly as the Terminator series is one of my all time favourites. I thought Rocky Balboa would dissapoint, but it didn't so I will go into this with an open mind.

went to see this last night, Verdict:

that was absolute pants!

*****SPOILERS*****

Where to start

1)Apparantly were so thick on the startup were shown the title of the film twice just incase were so dumb we didn't understand....

2)The film had no relevance on the terminator series, nothing actually happened. Connor blew up what we thought was skynet but turned out to be only a small part. so what was the point?

3)Skin job robots, whys he acting all 'OMG what are these?' when he met one when he was a kid in T2, oh and if the TSC-tv series makes T2 null, he still met a skin job with Cameron in the tv series.

4)the special effects just dont make up for a film with basicly no depth in story or acting, they ant even that good, 2 years ago i saw transformers and that is still far better than terminators CGI. my Point CGI is so common these days if your going to base ur entire film on the damn stuff atleast make it special.

5)its set in 2018, 14 years after judgement day (2004) apparantly happens (so this means Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles is nullified, well done mcg, these were supposedly meant to work in tandem...). anyways so yeah 14 years on, the robots apparantly have just let the human beings fly around in plains and tons of helicopters. what the ****, 14 years and the machines haven't produced enough units to cover air and ground, thats bull****, these are machines and dont need to take timer off from working to sleep. they'd have a global army by this point and humans would not be able to fly around in planes and helicopters. its the resistance not America vs Robots, its meant to be underground, cover of nightfall, secrets missions etc.

End of rant (for now)

that was pants, id ask for my money back if a fiver actually meant something to me. MCG was a terrible choice to start with, and the movie is justification of that decision.

I didn't understand why they said it's better to move in the daytime because the machines have infrared.

I wasn't aware it was limited to night time...

Anyway, my view on the film may have been altered slightly by the fact the cinema I went to was showing it in stereo! Not even quality sound!

Never going there again!

In a warm, desert/Californian environment IR would be pretty useless during the day!

Well as a mindless action film it's pretty good. If you're one of those people who likes to pick at a movies plot then stay the hell away from this lol!

So didn't need someone like Christian Bale to play that part, he's totally wasted in this movie.

i cant stand christian bales batman voice, which he used in this too....

This film was badass!! Really enjoyed it :)

Agree with the Bale batman voice though, lol. I bet everyone was thinking that.

3)Skin job robots, whys he acting all 'OMG what are these?' when he met one when he was a kid in T2, oh and if the TSC-tv series makes T2 null, he still met a skin job with Cameron in the tv series.

But the "skin jobs" in T2 were robots with a human skin on the outside, whereas the ones in T:S were robots with human organs, brain, and skin. More like metal reinforced humans with a chip implant on the back of the head.

the way it came across to me was that he was the first skin job. the only thing that made him human was the heart, skin and brain. the Arnie model in T2 is just a better version is all where they've managed to connect the machine to the skin instead of using a human heart to give them blood circulation/simulation.

thats the way i saw it, because theres no point in having a squishy human heart and brain, its a real flaw as pointed out when Arnie simply punched him in the chest lol.

but you could be right, still plenty of flaws even if we discount that.

oh and wish John Connor had got tear eyed and cried when he saw arnie. but he didn't seem to recognise him :(

Well I wasn’t impressed, excellent CGI in places, good actors, I REALLY wanted to like it, but I felt let down, interestingly reading someone’s comment further up it did just come across as been “another day in the life of john Connor” that’s a good way to look at it.

Annoying bits

Obviously the whole take my heart bit, really stupid.

The Arnold CGI bit was poor at first, but the scene got better later on, until the whole punch him in the heart “that’s his weakness” bit after he had been throwing John Connor about, what his directive like “go soften him up a bit like some Nottingham ***** would do but don’t kill him” stupid, also two would have pretty much sorted him out, but I suppose in the name of drama *rolleyes*

“Disable the north tower” obviously that would have been the only thing stopping John getting in.

“Oh the signal was a big trap, your all going to die” oh wait no, we will rely on some guy who obviously isn’t on our side for definite to not freak out and save the day.

All the people in the Skynet headquarters, one scene we have thousands of them who John Connor is all concerned about, the next he rescues like two dozen, and everything is good, lets blow the rest of them up.

It’s obvious this was an expensive movie, but was full of stupid stuff really

Find it hard to fault bale to be fair though, he’s a good actor and even the batman voice did not really upset me

Watched this yesterday and thought it was a ok popcorn movie but was expecting so much more from it. As much as all the holes in the script and the fact that the resistance still had A10's flying about with a hot chicks in this was my favourite bit :D Loved all the CGI scenes but the story was a bit thin on the ground and must have written in about 10mins.

I saw this at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon and by 7 I had even forgotten I'd seen it when I saw my friends so that's how I judge a film so I'm giving it...

5/10

From when Markus escapes from the bunker base I thought it turned out a bit meh. I started thinking 'It's been good, but I really want to go home and watch T2'.

I think the Empire review was a bit positive, and think it is more of a 3.5 :p

But from the beginning until the Markus landmine bit I was engrossed. Travelling around LA, the desert, evading different types of machines, explosions, chases.... WOW.

THen some silly signal, infiltrating skynet, and arny..... Well :/

Still worth a watch though !

noes! not the voice, i realy hated the voice he used in Batman. Using it to hide his identity I understand but when speaking to Alfred alone, he knows who you are!!

Hmm had high hopes for this movie but from whats been said so far looks like it might be a let down.

Wont stop me from going to see it tomorrow tho :)

The biggest "wtf" moment in this movie has to be why didn't the t-800 just snap connors neck when he had the chance? Thats the main flaw in a scene putting him against a terminator and the terminator getting the upperhand. Their whole mission is to kill off connor yet when they get the chance they have to inexplicably toss him around for a bit first instead of snapping his neck or punching his heart out.

Obviously they wanted to have a scene with him and the "original" terminator, from a "nod to the old movies" point of view its good but in the grand scheme of things makes no sense as to why they don't deal the killing blow when they have the chance.

Actually they weren't, he's been quoted as saying this is the follow on to t2, the series didn't play into any part of this movie uin terms of timeline or continuity.
