Anybody else here happen to like this?

Got tickets to go and see it live at the NIA next Friday and I cannot wait to go, I have always liked it since first hearing it when I was about 8 years old.

Anybody else going to see it?

"No-one would have believed, that in the last years of the 19th century that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. No one could have dreamed that we were being scrutinized as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of life on other planets. And yet, across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded this Earth with envious eyes, and slowly, and surely, they drew their plans against us.

Seen it on it's last tour in Belfast. Amazing is probably the only thing I can describe it as. Probably the best concert I've seen.

Own the CD's and vinyl too.

My friend is going with his parents to see it at the O2. Tbh I wouldn't mind seeing it. It brought up a big conversation about War of the Worlds and the film, so I ended up watching it again last night, such a cool film IMO.

And I know the musical is a tad different to how the film is :P

Yeah I too have the CD. I have been told it's amazing, that's why I am so excited about going (not to mention Jennifer Ellison is in it). :D

It is a good film, I like the bit when the train goes rushing by whilst on fire.

My favourite bit is whenever the tripods are there, the horn they do sends a chill down my spine!

If you've seen the new Mass Effect 2, at the end when displaying the title, there's a very similar horn there as well :D

the tom cruse film is a mix of the original film from the 50`s and the Jeff Wayne LP, so you cant really compare the musical to it, as the musical is just taken from the Jeff Wayne LP

wouldn't mind going to see this
war of the worlds LP was the first LP that i bought in 1977 when it was released

I was on the verge of getting tickets to go and see this with my ex before we split up. It was a bit of a shame as I'm sure it would have been awesome, but oh well, at least it saved me some money!

PK!

My dad used to play this non stop when I was a kid and it absolutely terrified me! I would have to go out and play when it was on :(

But I'm a grown up now, and actually quite like it :D Not going to see the show though...

My dad used to play this non-stop too when I was young. Didn't freak me out though, just thought it was a little strange. I still don't see the appeal but I think i'm 20 years too late anyway.

Im going to see it in Nottingham on the 17th. I also grew up with my dad playing it all the time, especially in the car on long night-time drives to see relatives :o
