Hi, I did a search on the forum for this monitor and found mostly positive comments about it but I have a few questions before ordering as over £400 is quite a bit of money for me :)

I currently have the NEC 20WGX2 which is awesome but I want to watch blu-rays at the full resolution with my ps3 and also gaming with the ps3, the 20wgx2 only goes to 1680x1050.

The reviews i've read say the ghosting is worse than the 20wgx2 and I would like to know if anyone finds ghosting on the 24WMGX3 in fast paced games a problem? I don't notice any whatsoever on the 20WGX2...

Also, do blu-rays and ps3 games look decent on it?

Haven't hooked up my 24WMGX3 to a computer yet (building in process) but have done on the PS3, and blu-rays/games do indeed look great.

I highly doubt you'll see any ghosting on this thing.

I'll take the plunge in a week or so when funds are a bit better :)

I'm intending to sell my 20wgx2 to a friend for £80, is that a reasonable price you think?

Nice price for a friend. I sold my 20WGX2 withing one day on the bay for for £150 plus £10 postage. There hadn't being one for sale for a couple of months and they only crop up occasionally. I wish I had listed it for more as I had 9 watchers on day one before it was bought. Depends how much you like your friend ;)

Hmm seems I should have gone a bit higher on the price then, did yours have any warranty left? I had mine replaced around 6 months ago so it's pretty new but the warranty has run out now

Mine had two months warranty left and like yours had just being replaced. Yep, you sold it to him cheap but he is a mate ;)
 
BTW CustomPC mag has a review of 24inch monitors in this (JULY 2009 - ?!) issue. It rates the HPLP2475w slightly higher but says it does have 31ms lag (that the NEC doesn't)
 
I would buy one of these GX3s if my 20WGX2 hadn't been completely faultess over the two years I've had it. Apart from the lower res I can't knock it.

I also haven't noticed any ghosting with it in CS etc and I'm really picky. Blurays look excellent too although I usually pipe them into my plasma.

Yeah fingers crossed for you ttreaders that you get a good un from the B grade - I'm sure the screen will be fine, just hope you get all the bits with it too! There's a post here I made about setting the screen up using data from Baddass' site TFTCentral.co.uk, and there's an ICC Profile you can download from his site here.

I take it this NEC is the best 24 inch screen out at the moment for gaming???

The Hazro screens were very popular some months ago for gaming but you can`t buy them anymore.
