Just doing my usual perusing of Autotrader out of interest on prices.

These are dropping into the early £20k prices now for very nearly new/low mileage examples.

Specs are quite impressive:

Engine Size 3597 cc
Cylinders 6
0-60 mph 5.4 s
Power Output 295 bhp
Valves 24
Torque 350 Nm 258 lb-ft
Top Speed 155 mph
MPG 28
Insurance Group 18
Euro Emissions Standard IV
CO2 Emissions 242 g/km

They're quite pleasant outside, quite pleasant inside (in a standard german kind of way) and got from what I can read have gotten fairly good reviews.

So, they're crap right?

I LOVE the look of the Passat CC. I had no idea it was fitted with such a meaty engine either. If I had 20k to drop on a car i'd certainly be looking at one of these.

You can buy pretty much any car you can think of for low £20k's - from a Mercedes SL500 to a BMW M5 to an Audi S4.

Or a Passat.

5.4 seconds to 60 for a heavy FWD car with 295bhp? Am I right in thinking that's very optimistic?

it does seem very optimistic, but if it's being driven on fumes with the DSG, it could well do it in under 6..

it has 4wd, but i don't think it's all that heavy
