Has anyone noticed the post is really slow, and banks?

I've noticed this lately, like the past week. I've had stuff sent to me and it seems to take forever getting here. For example:

  • I ordered something 1st class on 31st and came yesterday.
  • Another item I have ordered should have came yesterday (was shipped/confirmed) still didn't come today.
  • Someone shipped me something on 29th of May (Fri), should have came 30th (Sat) or maybe 1st June (Mon) and I am still to receive it. It was posted 1st class recorded.

Someone else is posting something else out today for me with Saturday Special next day delivery. If it's anything like the last items I wont see it till early next week, it's a good job I can get a refund on the delivery if it doesn't reach me.

I have also noticed banks are taking forever to clear money, I bought a pizza from Asda some time last week (I'll find out the date later) and it came off my bank like 02 June, it's usually a lot quicker.

Has anybody noticed these services being a lot slower than usual?
 
Have you checked you're not experiencing a localised distortion to the space-time continuum?

I ordered a mouse mat from OcUK a couple of weeks ago on a Friday, it arrived Saturday via Royal Mail. Pretty good I would say.
 
Usually these services are really good, I never have problems and I usually get a lot of mail - it's just now they seem really slow. I don't mind a day or so but a week and still nothing on 1st class delivery!! I'm waiting on the sender to check the tracking number.
 
No but I have noticed the last 3 times I have ordered something the postman just drops a "Sorry you were out" note through my door, I then open the door and say "Oi, what’s your game" and he just says some crap like "Oh, sorry its back at the office".

WTH is it with lazy postman, I mean all 3 times the package was about the size of a DVD so he just couldn’t be bothered to bring it out!

Really gets on my nerves!

That’s not the point, the point is they are paid to deliver the post and (our) postman is clearly not!

If it happens again and I catch him I’m going to Falcon punch him! :mad:
 
I'm putting on my tinfoil hat. Clearly we are being prepared for the end of days. Missing airliners, governments crumbling, rogue states going nuclear, global warming and now, the final overture - slower banking and postal services. The end is nigh people.

In other news, JSA aint gave me a payment since 12 MAY, the joke centre tell me to call this number and that number tells me to go the joke centre.

The post here is disgraceful. A letter sent first class from the other side of Edinburgh usually takes 3-4 days to arrive. Second class is a nightmare.

In April, my sister received a letter for an interview. She was like "Oh, that's a pretty close date" - it was the Sunday morning, she received it on the Wednesday. Unfortunately, my sister is a bit dippit and didn't check the date properly. 5th of March, not April, the letter was dated for. :|
