Windows 7 hits RC stage Build 7100

Is there a way to make the taskbar like i have it in vista, with the quick launch icons at the top and the program buttons below it like ive got on this screenshot?

There is a quick launch, its just not there by default. Search this thread for a post by me on how to do it.

Cheers i'll give that a try.

Another question now :

Is anyone using a compro videomate E700 PCI-E tv card with win7 64 bit?

I'll be wanting to use media centre with it :)

I have been using build 7201 for a few days and for some reason its slower
then 7100 and it wont let me install Intels new drivers for my P35 mobo which Build 7100 would.
I.E I run the installer for Intell on build 7100 and the drivers are for 2009
I do the same on build 7201 and they stay at 2008 even if I try to force the update.

So I am going back to 7100.

Yes, works flawlessly once you've got into windows on the first boot and it downloads drivers from windows update. I never bothered trying to install the ones from compro directly as they're probably the same. Still, no reason to, works fine with WMC.

Anyone else using 7201 and back up these claims?

It's not a official release therefore you will have problems.

I always end up doing it the old way which is
Device Manager/right click then properties/update driver
then point it to the folder of the new drivers are for each Intel device.

Did anyone else have trouble installing 7100?

I pick the drive, set the language then it gets to the part where is says the percentages and just sits at 0% on the first one. I waited 10 mins and it didn't move.

I downloaded it again and burnt the DVD at 1x and still had the same thing.

Do you have your FDD enabled in bios but not connected?

Sorry to post this guys but I'm a little bit confused :o

I'm not sure which version to download.. and where to download from!

I'd like to do a fresh install onto a new HD at some point today/tommorow and would be v.grateful if someone could point me in the right direction :)

System is running a Core 2 Duo E8400 & 4GB of Ram (I believe this helps you figure out if I need X86 or X64?)

Thanks

With your stated hardware you will be looking for the x64 version, you can download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/download.aspx

Sign in first with a windows live (hotmail) account then visit that link and follow the instructions, when you select your download at the bottlom of the page you will get a product key as part of the process.

When you have finished downloading the iso check it against the MD5 hash given in the first post of this thread, there is also a link to a MD5 checker there too.

Burn and install :)

I downloaded again last night from microsoft then installed it from a USB, all went fine and very fast, but I have problems.

The system keeps hanging meaning I can't do anything, then I get BSOD. In device manager the only thing with a ? next to it is my soundcard.

Being a new SSD I worry that there is a problem with that, might ghost my Vista install onto it to test it.

Any other idea what can cause 7 to hang then BSOD?
