When you are driving do you...

I do if i have reason to drive through middlesbrough of an evening, but otherwise no i dont.

I always tell the wife to lock up though, simply because she has the kids in the car and her handbag is usually on the passenger seat.

E38 and E39 it's a programmable option.

530d does it, it annoys the hell out of me so I had it turned off on the 530i. In the event of an impact it auto unlocks.

I just knew you'd be along with your anorak! ;):p:D:D

My e38 may have had that option, I never discovered it, same goes with my Dads e39 tbh....

Without wishing to rub salt into old wounds, did you find out about the unlocking deal when you had your little off a while back? - not a dig, an honest question, really !!!

I never lock the doors, as a child I was always told it made it much harder for emergency services to get in the car, so I just never have and nor do my children.

I wish to know more please enlighten me.

I don't like to be threatened, and if put in a compromising position such as someone opening my door to "have a go" I don't sit and take it. I'm getting it under control, but I refuse to be bullied and refuse to be threatened or aggressed. I'm not proud of it at all, but in general I just shrug my shoulders and let it pass over me, but some people feel the need to get out of their cars. I've had one incident (there is a thread on it) where someone did "pull" me out the car - fortunately the police didn't press charges against me. Anyway it's not something that I'm trying to "show off" about as it's disgusting behaviour.

My doors lock automatically however I've normally got the roof off anyway so it probably wouldn't help.

I lock my car as soon as I get in. Lock doors, Ignition, handbrake :P

Prevents the possibility of carjacking, happened to my friend in school some guys tried to drag him out and if there are dodgy people around, it makes me feel safer that i'm 100% sure they can't just open the door and jump in with a knife or something.
