Im determined to see more F1 races at more tracks (so far Silverstone and Spa), but as is the way when you choose to find a life partner, its only going to get harder for me to convince the GF that its a good idea, or, im going to have to take her with me. Being a Girl shes not really into F1 on the tele (although the atmosphere or the event will be different) and shes not keen on camping or grassy banks at 5am either... So im tryign to think of decent tracks that will allow for decent viewing, possibly with cheap grandstand seats, and also is somewhere where she can do other things (like shopping, etc).

So far ive thought of Monza as Milan is only 20 miles away and it allow her and a friend to shop on Saturday while me and her friends boyfriend watch qualifying, and then all 4 or us can watch the race on sunday. What other tracks are their that may be Girlfriend friendly? There needs to be something in it for her (like a nice city or shops or something), or needs to be a simple fly out, watch race, fly back ciruit so she wont have time to get bored.

If shes not going to enjoy the F1 then there potential she'll make the day harder than it needs to be to make it easier for her.

I'd be off with a couple of mates instead. Maybe if your mates have similar partners you can turn it into a holiday so they don't have to be with you at all race weekend and they can go spend all your money somewhere.

Monza is ideal. You can fly cheaply to Bergamo from Luton with Ryanair. Coach (not a manky bus) to Milan city centre is about £10.
Milan is a bit hectic but very cosmopolitan and chic..... Monza is not that far out of Milan, and the circuit is set in a really nice park.

Go for it :)

No, she would like to go to an F1 race, shes just not so keen on the camping or 5am on a bank type visits that I do, so Id like to make it worth her while with something other than F1 going on aswell, and whilse she will enjoy the race, Saturday definately wont be her thing.

Monza looks like a good shout. Has anyone ever been? Can you see much with a General Admission ticket? Or are they 90 Euros for a reason...?

Barcalona, cheapest tickets for a grandstand on the calendar. Perfect weather and really cheap hotels. Easy to get to the circuit, very little traffic and cheap flights. I normally go for the week as its so cheap and stay on to make a small holiday of it.

Nice eating as well.

+1 For Barcalona, good place to go for the ladies, good for a holiday and a good race. It's a lovely place so everyone will enjoy it when its not race day.

Take an interest in one of her hobbies and try your best to be genuine (girls hunderware shopping = win). If you take the time to go to art galleris/theatre/concerts/etc. she won't begrudge you the odd F1 race.

Or she shouldn't do, anyway.

Whats the view like from anywhere that isnt a grandstand?

Barcelona is good for the place and the Grandstand... but as an F1 fan it doesnt inspire me to much

To be fair when you actually go to various circuits it's pretty much the same as a viewing event. You can only see one section of track and the chances of seeing much action there is slim.

I like barca over others because you can see so much of the track. Fridays and saturdays are usually not busy so you can walk around a choose a slot to sit and watch.

The city is fantastic as well. The Mrs would love it for shopping.

True, but its still nice to have the cars some past in a different order for a change every now and then :)

Barcalona does meet with aproval from the missus.

Its not so much that she doesnt want to see F1, its that I want to go elsewhere too. If I just wanted her to watch and F1 race we would just go to Silverstone for the day, but Ive been there and done that, so I want to go elsewhere, and shes less excited about a days traveling each way to watch F1, but will gladly do a days travel each way to watch F1 and see a nice european city and go shopping.

Went to WTCC at Brands last year, which is were she realised motorsport is much more fun when your their. We were going to go to the WTCC again but were away that weekend, so the plan is DTM in September :).

I just need to prove to her that 20 F1 car going past you at full throttle is heaven! :)

I think ill suggest Monza and Barcalona. Whats Valencia like? Without being the most boring track on the scedule?
