Puncture Resistant Bike Tyres

I'm about to change to more road friendly tyres for my MTB.

Anyone know how the Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres compare to the Continental Travel Contacts in terms of performance and puncture protection?

I will be mainly road riding but also a little off-road (toepaths etc.)

nothing can stop a nail.

very very rare to find a nail balancing on the road with its point facing upwards though

usually they would be lieing flat and any half hard tyre like mentioned in this thread would just go over it as though it was a stone

had lots of nails and bits of metal in my tyres.

when you ride over a flat nail your front tyre disturbs it enough to be at an angle for the rear tyre to take the bite.

Schwalbe Stelvio's here, been good so far.

More than could be said for the factory fit MOst EWIVA's that were on there. Mind you, I did ride over a road sign frame on them. In the dark. Going down a hill. At high speed. Whilst down on the tribars. :p

Stans juice and tubeless tyres :P

A guy posted this from the 100 mile MTB race I did last weekend, said he picked it up with 24 miles to go.

Well, I've now got "summer" tyres on my racing bike, Bontrager Race X-Lite Hardcase, 700x23, 260gms each, with kevlar bead, and kevlar punture protection.

I've hung the Marathon Pluses up for the winter and gone back to Panaracer Pasela Tourgaurds 700x32 for my touring bike - two of these tyres weigh the same as one Marathon plus!
